Using 0W-20 in a 2025 Corolla?

Will using 0W-20 instead of the recommended 0W-8 in a 2025 or 2026 Toyota Corolla LE 1.8 VOID the manufacturers warranty?

Just avoid the drama and use the specified oil. For 99.9% of drivers, it will never make a material difference. Save yourself the potential headaches.

Why would you want to do that? Has it ocurred to you that Toyota has millions upon millions of miles of real world testing behind that 0w-8 reccomendation?

If it really bothers you then perhaps a 0w-16 is in order. It's not as if you have extreme heat to deal with in NJ.

I wouldn't put much concern in it. Are manufacturers really going to sample oil for viscosity and chemical make up? If they are then I'm shocked.

0W-8 is for CAFE.

Put in whatever you want. 0W-20 is fine. Toyota can't do a thing about it. They would have to prove it caused the engine failure. The same engine can run 15W-40 in other countries. Don't listen to the bad advice on here.

Toyota USA is the one approving the warranty repair, not Toyota UAE.

And according to TCCN, in order for oil-related warranty approval, an sample of oil needs to be sent for UOA

No it DOES NOT state that in the 2025 Corolla or Camry owner's manual! Its clearly states to use 0W-8 but it not available you can use 0W-16, but you "must" change back to 0W-8 in the next oil change. READ the manual, please!

It is interesting how the manual states 0W-8 is "recommended" and then a "best choice" yet later states if 0W-16 is used then the 0W-8 "must" be used for the next oil change.

A "recommend" turned into a "best" and later changed to a "must".
