Upon which automotive hill will you die?

i'd say im not a purist in any way. the thing I hate most is people who neglect their cars, and then complain when it doesn't work. sadly I'm related to some of them.

i don't hate the people, i just hate how clueless they are

I want a vehicle that has actual knobs and buttons for things like radio (no volume knob is a big no-no), A/C controls and such.
Touch screens are OK for navigation, but having to dig through and switch menus on a touch screen to get to basic functions above is just plain unsafe.

I like my '18 Santa Fe, I can navigate the A/C, radio, navigation and such on the touch screen if I want, but I also have a physical knob to push and turn for the volume, buttons to adjust A/C temp and fan speed that can be done without looking at a screen.
Having the steering wheel control is nice, but I still want my volume knob.

So basically, my hill is a completely digital dash.
I want a car that I can make dark inside. Dark screens, dim dash. Just a speedo and fuel level and other essential gauges. If the phone rings, it stays dark. If the passenger changes the radio station or heat settings, it returns to dark.

If I start the car at the drive in movies, the headlights stay off. If I unlock the doors with the fob, the back-up lights stay off. (Thinking of you, GM.)

Manual HVAC controls are nice too. I want "as much heat (cooling) as possible" before I turn it down to something sustainable. Don't want to set a temperature and have the car outsmart me. Don't want AC coming on with defrost when I didn't ask for it. Don't need unreliable motorized (vacuumized) flapper doors replacing an honest cable.

I am going to demand that the hearse that carries my body to my final resting place be equipped with a pushrod V-8 and a manual gearbox. It can be a 3-on-the-tree or a nice 6-speed on the floor, I don't really care. Just make sure it's burning hydrocarbons and able to do a big burnout leaving the church parking lot.

I'll walk this earth for eternity if they try to carry me away with an electric motor.
This and it has to be a Cadillac Fleetwood Herst, 1972 vintage powered by a 472 with dual exhausts. I want the biggest gas guzzler made to float me to my final resting place. It will pass anything but a gas station!
