Turbo GT86 best available 5W40?

If I change my oil regularly, would you still recommend changing over to 5w50?
Also, are 0w40s better than the 5w40 equivalent?

In some cases. Some US market Castrol and M1 are brewed from better
base stocks in their 0W-40 versions. Not sure if that's relevant for what is
available in Israel.

Here is middle east (Israel). So 0-20C during winter and 20-45C during summer at most extremes. Oil temperatures, however, never pass around 105-110C even on track.

45°C is rather hot. However at an oil temperature of just 110°C even a 30
would work ok. I'd still suggest using a fully synthetic 5W-40, ideally with
some reputable approvals such as Porsche A40, MB229.5 etc.. I too would
never spend $160 for 5 liters.
Btw, your (aftermarket?) oil cooler seems to do an amazingly excellent job!
Did you ever consider starting an oil import business?

I added a screenshot of telemetry from my last race showing my oil temps because I understand it sounds unreasonable 😅
During break in I used 10w60 Motul X-Power and it was a tad quieter than right before changing to 5w40.
I'm not sure about the difference in 0W40 here, however we do import oil mostly from the US or Germany and Italy, if that makes a difference.

The aftermarket oil cooler is just sat right next to the intercooler, is rather large and has an air tunnel forcing air right in it :)

What are your opinions on oil additives such as Liquimoly CeraTec or MOS2, Eptech Polytron, or BG MOA?

Stunning. I'd bet any of my cars would have seen higher oil temps even though
all engines are bone stock.

You shouldn't have asked this question on Bitog...... :D :giggle:

Personally I prefer using an oil formulated with an 'adequate' additive package.
IF I had to add something I'd use Eurol Engine Treat (Dutch company) suposedly
containing Vanderbilt's Vanlube W-324 add pack (with Tungsten and AN). So far
I used it once along with Ravenol VMP to make its formulation close to that of
Ravenol REP. I had to use VMP due to its VW 504 00 approval. In a warranty case
VW typically doesn't check for Tungsten. It's still quite rare as a friction modifier.
I also used Liqui Moly MoS2 in my Mini, but just for a less common reason: MoS2
tints the oil and makes the Mini's hard to read dipstick a little bit better readable.
