Seems the smaller engines have to work a little harder to move the same big truck down the road, and that fuel economy isn't all that much better.Man, I thought my V6 was knocking down some great gas mileage. I see some great gas mileage from bigger engines, and heavier trucks. Y'all don't play fair.
The AFM has been disabled he stated. You can't get 25mpg without it working. That seems low for a 5.3. Does yours have oversized tires or a lift?
I drive 8 miles each way to work on easy back roads plus the usual running around and driving kids places - that is the only reason I considered getting a truck. I can go +400 miles on a tank and only fill up about twice per month. I do about 10k per year.I feel bad for anyone with a long commute driving a pickup
That is good mpgs considering,,,My f-250 gets 12.5 average with its 460. I only use it for truck kinda stuff and driving in the snow here and there.
In 2009 things were slow at the fab shop. My son and I had to go work in the field at a prison job my company was doing. It was 62 miles one way. The first 4 months I was able to drive my company truck. The last 2 months, mine (6 months at this job).I feel bad for anyone with a long commute driving a pickup
