Triax 0w-16 ('24 Crosstrek)

Wrong, their oils are API Licensed and certified according to product data sheets. I have been using their products for years and they are excellent.
Unfortunately because of the lawsuit we can’t trust what’s printed on the bottle. I see no way to trust the product data sheets either.

Beyond the fact that the company is shady, why even bother with them when there are so many known good brands? It makes little sense to even try this brand.

I seriously doubt it's anything too different than the most pedestrian "meets the spec" type private label oils. Nothing magic, nothing special. Does the job type stuff. But like you say, if spending literally $2-4 more per 5 quarts is breaking the bank to get a Pennzoil or Quaker state, you don't have an oil problem. You have a spending problem.

Hi,

I have a new 2024 Crosstrek 2.0 that I'm trying to select oil for. I was going to stick with Mobil 1, but Triax caught my eye and their specs on the 0w-16 look great. (Highest HT/HS I've seen and low NOACK) I've read through some older threads on the company which have made me weary but that was several years ago and it has all API approvals, etc. The price and availability are great, it ends up only being $7 more than Mobil1 and comes in a 5 quart jug. I did an early oil change at 1k miles with Liqui Moly I had on hand and installed a Valvomax at that point so the 5 quart jug is needed to make changes even easier. I will be doing every 5k miles going forward.

Any information about Triax is appreciated.
You will receive so many 'expert' replies on BITOG, but I'd be willing to bet money that no more than 1 in 5,000 of these 'experts' have a masters degree in tribology. So, take their 'burn the ship' responses with a grain of salt. Everyone has their opinion, just don't let them bluff you into thinking their's is the only one which matters.

I’m curious. What made you decide to make your first ever post in this of all threads?

It just caught my eye, as I've been looking at ULV trans fluids for my '18 F150, and Triax has an ULV offering, so I started digging. If you want to get some great info and suggestions, look up Lake Speed, Jr.
Hey, your first post has got to be about something, so why not this thread.
