Transmission fill plug won't come off! Subaru CVT

Why does this even happen? So annoying. Seems like all the fill plug needs is a dab of lubricant on its threads and flange at time of factory build. Or maybe use a copper washer? But that'd cost 2 cents more per vehicle...

Scott

there already is lubricant on the threads: the transmission fluid itself :sneaky:

I wish the valve body wasn't $800! It's actually easier to replace a valve body than to change the CVT fluid! At least the valve body is on top :sneaky:

@slacktide_bitog don't leave us hanging... What was your solution? Thanks!

I haven't made another attempt yet.

I ordered a 1/2 in 8mm impact hex socket from Amazon. I will use an impact to get it off. If there isn't enough room to fit the impact gun, then I will use extensions and zip it off from outside the car :D

Pair this with a 3’ breaker bar?

Tekton is awesome! Luckily, the impact version was the same price and didn't cost even a penny extra, so of course I went with that.
