Your 2GR-FE is a successor to my 1MZ-FE, not the same engine but not completely different either. My UOAs were better with M1 than GC (I used GC for several years) and the PCV valve would clog up with GC but it never does with M1.

FWIW.
I'm not that familiar with your 1MZ-FE, but why and how GC would clog PCV?
INDYMAC, LE has changed the formula of both 5w30 and 10w30 to meet Gf-5 standards. I understand it's base formulation is a synthetic now. Have you used and tested any of the new formulations? My rep called some months ago and I bought a couple of cases of 5w30 "on sale", my guess was they were trying to clear the old stuff.
LE came out with a couple of new formulas that they call Tetra-Syn in 5W-20 (8521) and 5w30 (8531). I have seen early testing of 8531 and it is proving to be an outstanding formula. Nothing on 8521 yet though.
LE 8130 remains unchanged to my knowledge. It is still CJ-4/SM.

INDYMAC, do you have any uoa's on the 5w30 (8531) ?
what's outstanding about this formula, did you find in the testing, compared to other 5w30 full synthetic formulas ?
I have not used the 8531 yet. So I can't provide the information that you are looking for.
Terry Dyson has tested it and provided plenty of test results on his Dyson DMW website. Unfortunately, I can't bring that information to a public website like BITOG without Terry's permission.
I guess I can say that you probably won't be dissapointed in how well it performs for you though.

Thanks! Since you have access to these testing/results, would you rather go for the thinner 5W-20 (LE 8521) over the thicker 5w30 (LE8531) then ?

Is is possible to share the HTHSV of the 8351 from these results ? Thanks!
I have not seen the actual test results for HTHS on 8531. But LE says it's 2.9. That could be a typical minimum though. It is very shear stable though...v40C/v100c don't budge while in service.
