5w-30 too thick for modern cars?

I wondered if this change would effect the engine. I have a 2025 Mit. Outlander and we felt like the engine did not sound good with the 0w-20, after switching to w5-20, the engine sounds much better. And it runs the same.

It’s not the winter rating.

I am the boomers. Well, when I was a kid boomers were the ones born before me just after WWII. Somewhere someone decided boomer stretched into the 1960s and I got labeled with older people who had nothing in common with my generation. We just got ignored.
