Toyota Hybrid Recommendations

Were all of those 300k kms Camrys serviced by the dealers and with 0w-16 oil?

It’s been my experience here in the U.S. that dealer service departments use whatever they want, to include viscosity.

I know of several dealerships, including Toyota, that use only two grades (0w-20 and 5w-30) of bulk oil.

I’m surprised the 0w-16 is recommended for your locale as I’m not aware of any CAFE-like requirements overseas compared to the U.S.

Yes, I can't guarantee 100% though, but it's a standard practice here for a taxi of any make to be serviced at dealerships only.

When I had my 2009 Lexus RX450h, I asked a very experienced Toyota mechanic should I use the recommended 0w20 or something else. He asked the mileage, told him 200k km, he said that I should use 5w30 absolutely.
