How's about a head to head discussion and comment session on these three oils. I've searched, read the posts, look at the data, stared at their respective websites, and would like some hard core opinions about these three botique oils as they have become to be known.

I was looking at using one of these oils in the future, hence why I asking for the debate to commence....

Depending on viscosity, application,Torco is a really great oil for most engines, though different but good ,Synergyn also is good in some apps,,,Neo ,,way out in left field,,,,,,personally if you want something different try Lubrication Engineers 5w30,very good stuff,,,BL

Out of the three you listed I would prefer the Torco SR1 for street use. Synergyn and NEO are great for racing applications, but Torco also make a great racing oil. Just my opinion.

Ok, here are the specific products that I was interested in:

Torco SR-5 0w20
Synergyn 0w20
Neo 5w30 (no 20 weight)

Winter's coming and was looking for something thinner at startup, and having the best protection factor possible. And no, I haven't ruled out Specialty Formulations products (a good member of this site), I'm just waiting for his 5w30 product to be released (soon, I hope

Yep, you guessed right, 'tis a '04 CR-V four banger. I've used Redline before, but in 5w30. I'm just a tinkerer and love to change things, which is why in my surfing time I search for new, improved, unique, different, more expensive (unfortunately), and mayber better lubrication products than the norm.

I am aware of Redline, Amsoil, GC, and M1's following in this forum, but also like to try new products as well, just to see if protection and lubrication properties can be improved. I know that somethings can and can't be made better until the technology phase of it kicks in, but one can always hope.

I do not know much about Synergyn or Torco. I believe that Synergyn's chief chemist is a former Amsoil guy.

Terry Dyson, oil analysis site sponsor, has positively mentioned Redline's 5w-20 since it has the film strength of many 10w30s and its superior shear strength. I have not used Redline's 5w-20 in my wife's 2004 Odyssey but would consider it.
