Even if Ford could make an exceptionally good Town Car there is no market for it, and it wouldn't sell well or make any money. Ford spent years and plowed billions into it's luxury car ambitions which culminated with the creation of the doomed and delusional PAG (Premiere Automotive Group) which was a collection of money losing luxury brands. After years of losses the financial crisis of 08 was the wake up call Ford needed to realize they're not beating the BMW's of the world, and Ford sold all the brands except for Lincoln. Lincoln is now on a short leash, they simply do not have the luxury of making good or even great cars that don't sell and make money. If the market demands an endless barrage of cookie cutter SUV's and crossovers than that is what Lincoln has to make to stay relevant.
Too bad FoMoCO could make the Lincoln Continental work as replacement for Town Car (Livery)
