Interstate batteries is really all I buy anymore or Duralast or Rural King nothing else. Not much luck with anything else. Napa batteries are supposed to be pretty good but I’ve never used one. Especially as hard as those are to change the batteries in I’d definitely get a good one. I would suggest Motorcraft but I believe all of those are AGM.

Interstate is really a battery distributor not a manufacturer. I believe they're mostly JCI/Clarios but depending on the battery, it could be a different manufacturer. JCI/Clarios also does Duralast depending on the line. The consensus is that East Penn is probably the best, but they're small and you see lots of JCI/Clarios batteries out there. Exide is probably the worst.

Yeah I believe so. I believe the reason they last so long is probably because they have higher standards for the manufacturer to follow. The one in our van lasted over 10 years and the one in my truck is going on 8 years now. And my truck does a lot of sitting since getting the Escape but it starts right up every time.

Which Duralast batteries are you referring to? I see the ones with the two year free replacement and the gold with the three Year replacement.

The one in my Escape is just a regular red label Duralast. The ones I was referring to lasting that long are the Interstate batteries. The current Duralast battery in the Escape was installed by me 3 years ago right before I bought it.

Walmart Everstart batteries are made by East Penn where I live (East coast,) but in other areas of the country they be made by other company.
