Those with 150,000 miles or more, check in

Not to chime in with an alternative site for this, but Mileage Impossible has about 55k followers on Facebook. The site specializes in posting high mileage units.

As for me? I had a red 1994 Toyota Camry LE coupe which now has over 400,000 miles. Also a 1986 Nissan truck with over 330,000 miles made a trip to its place of birth a few years ago. Passed only two vehicles on the way. A dump truck whose tires were taller than my regular cab. And an 8-car hauler that nearly went reverse in the Tennessee mountains.

2014 Armada; 204,000 miles; whatever the dealer then later the quick lube puts in; 5-6 K miles. Absolutely no problems, no consumption, no leaks. Bought it new.

Numbers on odometer going up, Kelly blue book value going down 👇 but there will be a wall where it's value to me me will keep going up.

2005 Buick LaCrosse CXL with the 3800 got up to 208,000 before it was totaled in a wreck. It had nagging electrical issues but the engine and transmission were original and going strong, plus no rust to speak of. Changed the oil every 4-5K, usually Pennzoil High Mileage 5w30 but occasionally used a 10w30.

After the wreck I used the insurance money last summer to buy another 2005 LaCrosse CXL. This one has 156,000 miles. Engine and transmission original, going strong so far, no rust, so far doesn't have the electrical issues the other one had, just wear-and-tear suspension work needed so far. Using Pennzoil Platinum 5w30 but the next change will be a frankenbrew of leftovers from the previous LaCrosse.

That 3800 is a long-life beast

Maybe I missed it in my basic search but is there a 200,000 mike thread on BITOG? The ol' Fusion should hit that mark my the end of summer

Thanks! I love to read high mileage stories. Going to join right now.

I have a 2000 Jeep Cherokee XJ. Has had 5w30 it's whole life, changed around 5,000 miles. First 60k used dino oil, since then synthetic. Currently running happily at 160k on the odometer.

my 99 Cavalier was past 320k when I french fried it on Alligator Alley @3am.. I thinkit would still be running if it wasn't for me trying to get it to a rest area so I could get some water in it... all I ran was Supertech 5wo synthetic and the cheapest oil filter available, every 10,000 miles... my 93 GMC w/4.3 was at 275xxx miles when I gave it to somebody hard up... same story, store brand synthetic and cheap oil filters every 10 to 15k.. I had 2 Harleys go past 200k... and a few other cars that I dont remember anymore.. 200 isn't that big of a deal anymore..

Recently got rid of a 2009 G37, approx. 247,000 miles. Nothing wrong with the engine still ran strong it was just everything else around it starting to go transmission, steering pump, some electrical issues.
It had a steady diet of PP 5w-30 for the most part.

I have two vehicles with over 300k miles.
2001 BMW 540 M-Sport owned basically since new. Currently at 346,00 miles. All I did was use the approved BMW LL-01 oil and an appropriate Mann, Hengst or Mahle oil filter and change it every 7500 miles.

2007 Toyota Tundra 4.7L currently around 312,000 miles. This one I have owned since around 25k miles. Oil changes every 6k to 7.5k miles. I use whatever 5w-30 synthetic is on sale...Mobil, Kirkland Signature, Quaker State, Pennzoil, STP, whatever. Filters same, Purolator, Bosch, but for the past 5 years Toyota as I found the local dealer has them cheap when purchased in quantity of four or more.

Never did anything special to get to where I am now, I follow a preventive maintenance schedule and fix stuff promptly when they break.

1982 VW Jetta 1.7L manual 240,xxx miles rusted out
Whatever random cheap oil was available

1987 VW Jetta GLi 1.8L manual 287,455 miles rusted out
Amsoil Signature @10,000 intervals, bypass filter evert 30,000

2001 Volvo S60 FWD non-turbo 2.4L auto..wife's car 227,xxx Rotella T6 @5,000 car needed an ECU witch was more that it was worth, sold it rust free

2003 VW Passat 1.8t manual, boost turned up to 15psi, many other mods 265,xxx sold it, and it's still going unknown miles now
Used Wix 1330 large oil filter for an extra quart of capacity and Amsoil Euro 5w40 at 5,000 mile intervals

2010 Honda CR-V 2.4L 160,000 still driving it. Super Tech 5w30 at 5,000 intervals Union Sangyo filters since new.

A few other vehicles with many miles, but engine swaps for higher HP etc, so those don't count.

2012 Honda Odyssey
Reached the 150k mark yesterday! Scheduled maintenance/repairs include timing belt and associated components, spark plugs, all fluids, etc. Unscheduled repairs include two motor mounts, a wheel bearing, rear shocks, sway bar links and bushings, brakes, and numerous minor body shop repairs (door dings, bumper repairs, and deer damage...).

This engine usually gets 0w20, but sometimes 5w20 or a mix of 0w20/5w20/5w30, sometimes HM and sometimes not.

166K on our 2004 Subaru Forester. Bought it new. It’s our short tripper spare vehicle. We gave it to my son. If it’s in the garage I use it first before anything else. I figure put the miles on that. We just don’t do a lot of driving. Our newer vehicles really don’t have a lot of miles for their year either.

195,000 miles 2001 Mitsubishi Montero, unknown oil used but it was changed regularly. original block, head gaskets were done, i think the heads are original. 2001 jetta TDI manual, 377,000 miles, original engine and turbo, cam and lifters replaced recently. had rotella t6 full synthetic diesel oil in 15w-40 since new.
