1993 Ford F-150 extended cab, 302 V8, automatic. Had it since new and has 409,165

The Ford 302 could run for quite awhile. I've seen several guys run those engines for well over 200k.

'96 Isuzu Oasis (Honda Odyssey). 153K 3-5k mile OCI with FRAM orange oil filters early and XG later with Castrol GTX 5W30 dino. I bought it used in 2001 with 55 k on the odometer. Still gets 18 mpg city and 24 mpg highway. Consumes about 1/2 quart between changes.

I'm going to be using Castrol GTX in my 2007 Odyssey also. Not sure about the filter, maybe the FRAM XG or a Mobile 1. But it's going to be due for its first change soon at 4k by me.

96' Dodge Neon with 170,000 miles Variety of different oils used. 3,000 miles OCI with Wix filters. Gets the same mileage it got since new. Does not use a drop of oil.

1997 Lincoln Town Car--163,242 miles-- use Mobil-1,
5-30 w/ 8000 mi oil changes--virtually no oil usage.
One run with M-1 EP for 14,800 miles --oil

was down 1/3 qt.

97 Chrysler Sebring JXI convertible; 162,600 miles. Started 1st change @ 50 miles to Valvoline 10W30, then every 3k after that until ~ Oct '00, then every 7K, then in July 04 went to synthetic every 6 months (whatever 10W30 was on sale, Syntec, Mobil 1) which works out to ~10K miles. Ran 5W50 Syntec from June to Dec 06. Changed 12/30/06 to PP 5W30. Currently uses one quart between changes. Wix or Baldwin filters exclusively.

I have 2 now. A 91 F150 302 4x4 with a 4 spd. It has 204k on it. It had the dealer re-ring job at 45k...excessive oil consumption...rings never sealed they said. The last 159k it has had Pennzoil dino changed at 6-8k intervals with the last 3-5 changes using Castrol Syntec. Filters used were either Wix or Napa which i think might be the same thing. Engine still runs strong but it is sidelined due to a transfer case failure.

Other one is a 2000 Silverado 4x4 4.8 v8 with 5 speed. It has 155k now and I bought with 48k on it. Never had anything but Mobil 1 5-30 in in with Wix filters until the last oil change when it got PP 5-30. This truck also has Red Line MTL and gear oil in all the cases. I honestly thing the drivetrain on it is gonna last forever although Im not sure about the body...lol. I havent even changed the spark plugs in the motor yet and still get 17-19 mpg.

I did have a 96 Blazer that seen Napa filters and Syntec 5w-30 its whole life. I sold it with 113k on it...the guy I sold it too had it 4 years and sold it. I dont know how many are on it now but he always used the same oil and filter as I did. That one had Red Line in all the cases as well. In typical GM fashion the drivetrain is still perfect but the body is starting to dissolve...lol.

Something I forgot...OCI's were done at 9-12k on the Silverado and the Blazer both. My trips were mostly long. I live a 40 mile round trip from anything.

Two volvos 1993 940 turbo 145000 the wife car/ kid hualer.1991 240 with new engine 198000,old engine die at 196000 no oil/got this one of e -bay 300 bucks.Run like a top now.

I have 2000 Mazda MPV with a 165000 miles, I do 10k OCI with Mobil 1 5-30, burns a 1/2 every oil change.

Just rolled over to 159K today, I purchased it 99 weeks ago with 106k on the clock.

I've been running Mobil 1 5W30 with a change every 4 months, current fill is on about 5 months and 9400 miles.

From the records, the previous owner did either Chevy dealership service every 3-5K and then a local lube and carwash at about the same intervals with Mobil 5W30 or 10W30. I might use a quart in the 8-10K mile interval.

I'm switching to the M1 EP when I hit 160K and going for 15K or 6 month intervals.

Oh, and I use Purolator filters.

Let's see, three years later, give or take.

Now at 217K on the clock. Tried the M1 EP for a about 18 months without drama. Did the same thing with Oilbabe's 2002 Camry, now at 178K miles for a while.

Both cars are now back at conventional oils at 5K intervals. Well, the Camry has Supertech synthetic so I'm not out there changing oil in the winter, so it's going 4 months, or about 8K miles until spring. Oilbabe is at about 2K/month usage, and the Prizm has dropped from about 25K/year to about 18K/year as I'm doing more on-site work and taking the train to this customer's site instead of driving the entire St. Louis metro area.

Living in the apartment for the past about 6 months has curtailed much of my tinkering with cars. However, oilbabe and I found a home and will close on 1/25 on our 2700 square foot shack.

First time ever that I owned a home with an attached three car garage.

1997 Acura Integra automatic - 208K Miles, top end rebuild due to head gasket leak and head warp. Started out with M1 every 5k, then every 6k, then every 10k and now using Chevron Supreme every 5k. Burns no oil.

(overheat when cooling fan die in traffic in Las Vegas' 110F heat storm, and I was stupid enough to open the cap when it was hot and pour cold coolant into it)

1995 Toyota Corolla 3spd auto - 159K Miles. Chevron Supreme every 5k, burns no oil.

The rest of the body and interior is falling apart however.

Glad you didn't have the head gasket issue I had on the 98 Neon I had. First head gasket at 28K, second at 42K, third at 55K.

1990 626 LX 243,000 that burns oil randomly although you rarely see the smoke. Right now its not burning any oil off but the high mileage that went in a month ago seems to be cleaning something because I get puffs of white carbon-ish smoke on some startups.

1989 Mx6 GT (same engine but turbo) 217,000 and almost the same story except it only gets whatever HDEO I can get my hands on and seems to love it.

Me: 1987 Olds Toronado Trofeo,3800 V6. I used Castrol GTX 20W50 w/Fram orange filter. Drove her from 100k to around 250k miles or so before I sold her to get a 3000GT. Never had a single engine issue ever. No oil usage or leakage at all. Hwy/city miles combined.

My dad: 1990 Olds 88,3800 V6. Pennzoil 10W30 dino. Car is in the 400k mile range. Never had any engine issues and to this day uses and leaks absolutely no oil whatsoever. Mostly hwy miles.

A couple of people I know:
1992 Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo,VG30DETT 3.0 V6. Castrol GTX 20W50 since new. No engine issues and still had original turbos. Car is driven very hard.

1990 Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo,VG30DETT 3.0 V6. Pennzoil 20W50 dino since new. No engine issues and still has original turbos as well. Car is tracked and driven hard on a regular basis.

Oops, forgot the miles on the last two cars. The 1992 has in the 350k mile range, and the 1990 has a bit over 250k miles.

Our Aspire has 204k on it but it's on the 2nd motor. Bought it at 189k and have used MC 5w20 since. No consumption on 5k intervals.

Dad now has 200k on 2 91's Festiva's. The one he bought from me I got a 80k and have used many different oils. I ran Mobil 1 10w30, 5w30, 0w30 at 8-10k oci when I drove a bunch. Havoline 10w30 at 3-4k invtervals afterwards. He uses Supertech 10w30 at 3k intervals. His old one he bought at 80k also up till a few years ago used Castrol 10w30 at 3k. He uses Supertech 10w30. He says my old one runs better but his gets better mileage.. odd.

Geo Metro 1997 4 cyl., automatic w/175000 mi. OCI every 5,000 mi. w/10w/30 supertech dino & supertech filter. Also Dodge Caravan 1997 3.8 v6, automatic w/180,000. OCI every 5,000 mi. w/10w/30 Valvoline Max-Life & supertech filter. Both of these I top off as needed, never had to add more than 1 qt. between changes.
