Thinking about a new oil & filter. Silverado 6.2

The only thing I disagree with is the AC Delco filter. They are not what they used to be. I was just discussing this with a friend today who came for his oil change and always bring his own ACD PF61 oil filter. I had the equivalent STP XL on my shelf so I showed him the differences. The delco was lighter, had the e core and a nitrile rubber adv. The STP XL was heavier, steel tube, better media and silicone adv - just a better filter. He had me use the STP. I stopped using them years ago when I had failures with 2 of them over the course of year.
It’s AEM - and with all the metal end cap filter issues we are seeing - I’m going back to PF63E with just 2 of my dozen left.
(the ADBV is 10 for 10 holding back a quart) …
The nylon cage has some advantages and the fiber end caps seal well with the leaf/poppet assembly …
They are light as a result of less metal …

I suggest get a half dozen champ / luber finer XL oil filters from rockauto, and some full syn 10w30 oil on sale or clearance. Will be great for your truck in Bama
