Tesla sales and orders are killing it...

Tesla showed a whopping 49 percent year-over-year sales growth in the US for the month of January.

Three Tesla models topped the list of BEV sales in the US in January, with Model Y registrations at 18,549 (36.8% of all BEVs) and Model 3 at 13,604 (27% of all BEVs). For comparison, Ford Mustang Mach-E sales fit into the 4th slot with 2,781 registrations, behind the Tesla Model S' 3,903.

Orders are reported to be up 100% in some US areas. Too bad they are production constrained.
Tesla already couldn't possibly keep up with the demand for its vehicles, and it has been raising prices and pushing back estimated delivery times on a regular basis over the last year or more. Just this week, the automaker raised prices and pushed back wait times yet again.

The 2 factories are pumping out cars and continue to expand. Austin and Berlin will still take months to ramp.

I assume once someone has place the order that the price can't be increased? Or is there a hidden clause in there somewhere?

Depends on if you want a fire or not...
No, you click-click-click to configure your car, get your price, give 'em a credit card for the down payment and that's it.

Try it yourself, you don't have to buy... Tesla

There is something about a start up American company changing and then leading the world!

Tesla will sell about 1.8M cars this year, and just about all of them are spoken for.

The faboyism is flaming in this post. If Elon jumped off a cliff, would you do it too?
He'd surely be there trying to catch him anyway!
Something about the success of a great American company that is leading the world works for me.
When NUMMI shuttered, the East Bay Area suffered, so many jobs lost, direct and indirect. Many lost their homes...
When Musk reopened the huge Fremont plant, he put out full page ads in the SJ Mercury-News urging ex-NUMMI workers to apply.
Today there are in excess of 10,000 employees there, far more than GM Toyota ever had. And the indirect support employs thousands more.

Not to mention SpaceX, Neuralink and the Boring Company. Neuralink is my favorite; they are working on a brain implant that hopes to allow paraplegics to walk and regain their independence.

Oh yeah, and then there's Starlink. SpaceX has been building out Ukrainian Internet capability for weeks amid an invasion by Russia.
Elon Musk has a knack for accomplishing feats that others consider improbable.

You‘re just now discovering that @JeffKeryk is a Tesla fan?

There‘s a huge body of posts defining his feelings on Tesla and Elon, not to mention TSLA.
Yeah, and I would consider ordering another Model 3, this time a Performance, but there are about 2M orders in line ahead of me... And growing.
What's a poor boy to do?
All good. Each to their own and I respect people's choices and opinions.

Great to see an American company back on top again.

I heard for years about how

it would never work
you'd never want one
you'd never get anywhere driving one
they were going to fail.
he'd never finish the 3/Y
the 3 wouldn't sell after the tax credits

and every other reason made up or real about why the endeavor would fail.

It's such a drag when people who have a lot to offer include politics, which taints their point one way or the other and only serves to get a post locked.

2M orders ahead of you???? Wow, how long would it take to get your order after that many cars are built, 2 years?

Tesla needs the tax deductions for depreciation and expenses as much as any other company. They need them a lot.
Perfect storm for Tesla, high gas prices, and people think of their cars when they think EV. That’s fine, like was said, more USA jobs, more better. I wish he would unionize though. Musk is sort of too controlling a personality to do that I suppose. Join the UAW.

They don't need the UAW . They need to be able to fire people when they do crank on the job .
