Tesla is struggling to turn Cybertruck reservations into buyers.

A lot of reservation holders are waiting for a cheaper trim. These first batches being built are Foundation Series trim (which is basically $100k+ in cost, a price that is kind of scary considering interest rates) which are much more expensive than what will be built in 2025

And the wow factor wears off. No one cares if they see a CT anymore.
Yeah for me it wore off after seeing just the 4th and I saw the first one almost two months ago. I don't think it looks bad and I actually like the crazy style but like anything it'll wear off.

Give me a break. The domestics don't have a class action lawsuit for engine failures or major engine failures in their pickups like the Koreans or Japanese.

Not to defended H/K or any other foreign brand but to be fair, lots of folks know of major engine issues in American pickup vehicles that do not have a class action against them (something recent that came up in this forum, the Ford V10 and hemi tick?). There are class action lawsuits against them for transmissions though.

I can drive my GM over 85 and not void the warranty :p

I'm not defending but I'm hoping people don't think it comes with special physics laws, because it still takes BTUs/energy to move weight. My gas F150 doesn't do much better for range when pulling our 7K tow hauler, I have the 26gal tank.

I have a tank about that size in my Silverado-but yea at 10 miles per gallon you are looking for gas around the 150 mile mark-or less if you are in remote areas and don't want to cut it close.
I got rid of a 2020 F-150 with the bad 10 speed. It was terrible. But yea the 36 gallon tank that came with the tow package was great!

I think the Foundation Series offer comes at a premium. I think you end up paying $10-$20k more to get your truck early and many are not taking the bait from what I’ve seen on the forums.

Edit-looks like a $20,000 plus premium. I know a few people that had one or more deposits and they canceled them.

That’s exactly it. They charge $20k for the Foundation Series package and most of its features don’t work yet.

I couldn't image actually towing with an EV...what do you do...unhook from the trailer each time to recharge?

This is a valid issue. Many chargers are not set up to handle a large trailer behind the charger itself. With that being said-it takes 10 minutes to drop a trailer-and the same to hitch it back up. One gets good at it. However-is there a place to park the trailer when one is recharging? There may not be. I pull frequently-and eating and fuel establishments are chosen by parking and access.

I have seen about 10 in my relatively affluent area. Rivian seems like popular one around here.

I have seen far more Rivians than Cyber trucks around my area as well.

https://www.cnbc.com/2024/08/06/riv...arnings-expectations-following-cost-cuts.html

"Through the first six months of the year Rivian produced about 23,600 vehicles ..."

"Rivian on Tuesday reaffirmed its 2024 guidance of 57,000 total units of production ..."

Looks like Rivian is selling about 1100 cars a week. I question how "popular" they are
