Tesla is struggling to turn Cybertruck reservations into buyers.

The Hyundai Santa Cruz is a Hyundai Tucson with the roof behind the rear seats lopped off and replaced with something that mildly reassembles a bed. It's a "pickup truck in spirit."
It's rather convenient because I think that's what many people actually want for a truck. To haul something and not risk screwing up the interior doing it.

I own a Tesla Model 3 and I wouldn't consider buying a Tesla Cybertruck. Man that thing is ugly. And it's barely a truck.

If I was going to buy a truck I'd buy a Ram.

PS All Teslas are supposed to be pretty good tow vehicles. I saw a series of videos of Teslas fitted up for towing fairly large travel trailers. They did quite well.

Well...I feel the same way about a Honda Ridgeline....

Yes-and the Rivian SUV is basically the pickup truck with a high shell and a third row.

I do believe that if Musk had the same political views as Robert DeNiro there would be much fewer complaints about him.
I couldn't tell you. Pop noise is not on my radar.

However, landing on whatever side of the "two party coin toss" has little to do with selling weird, wasteful vehicles using lies and press releases. A guy can be a bum, and his company can make disappointing product, and you're telling me he's being picked on.

Sounds a little childish to me.

He's not a bum...he's one of the richest men in the world. And as far as 'lies'...how about "baseball, hot dogs, apple pie and Chevrolet" (playing on patriotism) as they sell Korean and Chinese vehicles....they all do it....it's called marketing.

PS: I don't know why he's touting 'self driving' vehicles. If my car drove itself I'd take the bus instead. I like to drive.

Tesla is a tech company that happens to an (EV) automaker. Other automakers are trying to assemble tech to become an EV company.

The self driving is absolutely amazing if you want to drive extended distances. I went on road trip with friend and late nights the car did the driving while one of us slept in other seat.

The CT grew enormously in price and has far less real world capability than those putting down deposits were led to believe and those deposits were apparently nugatory anyway.
If I had put down two fiddy on what I thought would be a 40K vehicle and was now offered a vehicle that is less capable than what was advertised at around twice the dollars I'd walk away too.
Reality has a way of catching up with products offered at unrealistic prices that aren't as capable as expected.
This is nothing new with this company.
Funny you say that. Apparently Tesla has already dropped the RWD version even though none were manufactured yet. Then they raised the mid level Cybertruck to 100k from 69,000 the cyberbeast (the names are ridiculous) is now $120k up from $100k. So a vehicle that wasn't selling well is now even more expensive? Usually as manufacturing costs go down the price gets cheaper.

The new Tesla dealership near me just received 4 new dumpsters….er, cyber trucks.

I don't understand the hate for these vehicles. If you don't like it, don't buy it, don't even look at it. Apparently there is a market for them, and those who buy these Cybertrucks seem to enjoy them tremendously. I most certainly wouldn't knock these vehicles until I tried one. You might be surprised.

Are Cybertrucks also made in Germany…. or just here in Texas ?

This will be a major Tesla failure.

Texas. The CT currently outsells other EV pickups according to some reporting. It is somewhat difficult because Tesla does not break out sales numbers for each model so reports tend to use registration data.

Tucker Carlson got Musk to lend him a Cyber Truck to test it out with his country neighbors. They beat the crap out of it. Towed heavy weights, did high speed figure 8's at a gravel pit, took it off road etc. Those country guys liked it. Said it would meet their needs with everything but long distant towing.

I got the impression that Carlson wasn't a fan but the guy using it loved it. It came across like Carlson was expecting or even hoping for a bash fest on the truck, but I could be wrong. He at least seemed apprehensive to the whole idea. Then again I'm sure he wasn't looking to bow down to Musk in any form and tried to stay objective.

Where was this at? My limo driver took TC to a Texas ranch and said they talked and laughed the whole way …
