Here’s my thought: even on BITOG, we fall back on slogans and buzzwords which actually detract from our discussion and thinking. To demonstrate this, I thought we should come up with words and terms that used to everywhere on the site, but are now rare … indications that they were not that thoughtful or useful initially. Feel free to add yours. I’ll start:

Orange Can of Death
German Castrol
Extended drain Interval
Frankenblend

What do y’all have?

"gold" Belgium Castrol.. I used to run "green" GC 0W-30 in my 350Z until it was replaced by BC in the US Market

Orange can of death - OCD
German Castrol - Deutsche' Tea
Extended drain interval - EDI
Frankenblend - FBS (Frankie's blood supply)

ARX (Auto-Rx), GC (German Castrol obviously), Piston soak, LC (Lube Control) FP (Fuel Power), Molabrew. I remember the people (characters) more from way back then.

Are only nouns to be listed here?

Also, the waning of a word's use might be due to developments rather than thoughtlessness or uselessness.
Use of the term 'German Castrol' has faded as the product is no longer available.
The term "German Castrol" is as useful as ever as it is a specific product. It just doesn't come up as often.

I think we can open this to verbs, prepositions, conjunctions, modifiers. Really, any parts of spech. Heck, punctuation, emoticons…I’m open.
