I tried these Lavazza coffees: Caffe Espresso in black can, Crema e Gusto, Qualita Rossa, Tierra, Crema e Aroma and Gran Filtro.

I like Caffe Espresso and Qualita Rossa best. They are hardly on sale when they were on sale for around $3 a can/bag I bought 12 or 16 cans/bags. I bought others mainly because they were on sale for as little as $2.50 8-oz can/bag.

The one I like to try is Alessi Espresso in 8.8-Ounce Can, but Amazon didn't have it on sale for few months, the regular price is $33 for 6 cans.

I think that the pump espresso machine is much better than steam machine in making espresso. You can not get any Crema with steam machine.

Which one do you have? I might end up upgrading at some point.

Sorry for a little OT.

I have Breville ESP8XL, I bought it from Macy's 4-5 years ago for about $120-130. It's about $180-200 now. You can find good pump machine for less than $100 on Amazon.

I bought a Keurig to use at work. I really like it as I usually only drink one cup in the morning, maybe two. Co-workers buy what they like and everyone is happy.

I like coffee, but most I have to add sugar and cream. I've found several for the Keurig that I really enjoy black, including some very dark roasts.

The cost is about the same per cup as buying premium coffee in 12 ounce bags at the grocery store.

I don't think anyone buys one of these machines hoping to save money. I bought it for the convenience and ability to make lattes. So far I have to say the starbucks cappucino is my favourite.

Compared to the gas station, dunkin donutz lack of quality and the similar grinds/burnt coffee from starbuxs, I'll take an instant cup from a Keurig any day. Cost isn't much.
I don't care for overly strong coffee. Concentrated sludge espresso isn't my idea of enjoying a drink. Too strong, for the sake of being too strong, isn't any good. I also don't care for silly foam or gimmicky toppings. No addiction, so I drink it when I want and can go weeks or months without a cup.

I'd take a good ol' stove percolator(mom has one and her coffee is the best). Problem is, I'd be wasting a ton of coffee every day. An acceptable cup here or there on demand is what the Keurig is good for.

Meh. I used one, and wasn't thrilled with the coffee quality. It sure was convenient using the K-cups. The filter things were a pain to use, as cleaning them after every cup was a small nightmare.

Pro: Convenient, everybody gets what they want.

Con: Expensive, mediocre-at-best (to me) coffee quality, noisy.

My cheap 4-cup drip machine will make better quality coffee when I'm at home. It's okay for an office setting.

I have a keurig and I like it but for christmas I bought myself a Illy espresso machine.

Its $125 but you have to sign up for their auto delivery but its so good that I upped my delivery to 6 cans every three months. So I go through 2 cans so a total of 42 cups a month. Thats only because I limit myself though because it is the best espresso that I can even get in my area (I live in Atlanta now) In portland you can find better but you have to go drive somewhere and pay for it but this is right in my kitchen. Its a capsuel system kind of like the keurig but for espresso.

Keurig makes a little grey insert with a stainless screen strainer so you can put your own coffee into it and brew a cup. It replaces temporary the K-cup receptacle.

This accessory costs about $14 and lowers the price per cup significantly. Around our house, we stuff a tea bag in it when we want a cup of tea, and the cost per cup ends up being pennies. With coffee, it would be a little bit messier, but not much I imagine.

It's a "must have" accessory for Keurig owners in my opinion.
