I don't think it could be used oil because because of the smell of it. Anyone who has ever changed their own oil has also taken it upon themselves to take a whiff of new oil as well as used. The new oil smells 'pleasant' to us oil freaks. Almost like liquid plastic. Used smells horrible and can barely tolerate a whiff since you get gas smell and whatever combustion products. I don't see how even filtering would get rid of that. It would seem oil would need refining to pass the nose test? Synlube smelled like new oil to me.

Used SynLube Motor Oil when applied to the side walls of tires can substantially prolong the tire life especially in hot, smoggy and ozone prone areas as it prevents the sidewall deterioration and cracking. http://www.synlube.com/FOREVER2009.htm near the bottom.

So much for not putting used oil into the enviorment.

Well, I suppose they had to find some use for it. Especially since inside an engine is one of the last places you would want to put it.

You know, the variations in the different VOAs, and UOAs for synlube leave me to wonder if he doesn't just take used/new motor oil, and haphazardly add a bunch of different additives. Not measuring, or anything just kind of sprinkling it in. Would explain the massive variations I think.

Looks like it went dead on Jan 31st 2010.

BTW, the Family Foundation at 10760 Warner Ave. in Fountain Valley mentioned in your article s also the listed address for America Fine Lubricants. There is a medical center there now, but the article is 12 years old so that isn't too significant. Beats a post office box in the desert.

Yeah. Your info intrigued me, so I did a little google and bing.

The syn/syntha, it sounds so much alike they could be twins.

It is a shell game. When people could not find Synlube in the places it was supposed to be located in LV Nevada he decided he would claim it was someplace where nobody could go-a high security military facility. No ordinary person is ever going to be able to go to the old community of Mercury, Nevada.

If by some miracle somebody was able to go to Mercury, suddenly Synlube would be located someplace even more inaccessable, if that is possible.

I would like to see an actual VOA or UOA on Synlube. But even without that VOA or UOA all of the above speaks volumes. This shell game demonstrates perhaps even more than any VOA that Synlube is not legit. I would certainly never buy it. I would use any known brand of conventional motor oil before I ever used this stuff.
