If you take spent oil and add LM to it, it will look gray just like the picture of LM being poured into the engine. You should have seen what the oil that came out of my snow blower looked like. Two ounces of LM ~10% made the spent oil look like silver paint that people painted the old cast iron radiators in their houses with.

If they are actually using used motor oil and just putting some sort of concoction into that they are even cheaper than I thought they were! With Synlube costing $32.00 a quart they could afford to buy Mobil 1 oil, put something like moly into it, and sell that as Synlube!

As decent brand of conventional or synthetic motor oil is far superior to Synlube.

Yes, there definitely seems to be something wrong with him. He says some crazy, off the wall stuff.

I don't think the people behind Synlube are even very good at the slimy business they are in. If they were really clever they would at least use new Mobil 1 oil and maybe put something into that, like Lubro-Moly. There would be a better chance of the engine actually lasting for some considerable period of time. At $32.00 a quart for Synlube they could afford to use Mobil 1 to make it with.

I could smell a rat almost from the start after these Synlube people showed up. I would not use their Synlube to lubricate door locks.

I think it's possible the Synlube people know they've been busted and are now fueling the fire going, for broke. If they really think that people are believing anything they say, then they truly are crazy!

But wait, his technical prowess is unsurpassed, check out those quotes on the VOA thread where they just filter the used oil and then add additives to it. And from the same site, such pearls as:

"Except when you use Synlube then even 5-6 psi is enough to keep the bushings lubricated . . . Miro didn't recommend that I install a mechanical oil pressure gauge because pressure would not matter when using Synlube since the lubrication is provided by the solids in the lube and not the hydralic pressure. Seems weird but it is working great so far."

I guess the "oil" part is pretty irrelevant to them. It's the magic PTFE additives that are important. ?

Well, the limited VOA on the small engine Synlube looked terrible. There may be VOAs or UOAs on automotive Synlube coming.

Bottom line: Synlube is junk. If that small engine sample was any indication you could get better lubrication for your lawnmower using any decent brand of 10W30 or 30 wt conventional motor oil.

I think it is very clear why the Synlube people did not like VOAs or UOAs. In any case, we really do not need VOAs or UOAs to judge this product anyway.

Why? Show me where the Synlube facility is located. Yeah right-it is in that former town of Mercury on a military high security base. Case closed.

Synlube said that the USED synlube was so high quality that they sold the used Synlube to the government. Well, we really do not want for this used stuff to be in the President's limo, do we? Or even the fresh Synlube.

Nothing gets sold to the government without one.

Not that it really matters too much since it seems no one is going to use synlube here, but out of curiosity what is the thinking of its composition? Is it used and contaminated 15W40 with maybe some off-the-shelf oil additive or what? How can they get away with telling customers to run used contaminated motor oil indefinitely?
