Did I screw up with SynLube?

How does having an engineering degree make you a lubricant expert, or make a testimonial more valid?

Appeal to authority is a logical fallacy.

Claiming legitimacy because one has stood near authority is a bigger logical fallacy.

It's difficult to become an expert an in area as complicated as tribology without some formal education and without having gotten some formal recognition along the way.

I didn't claim they were valid arguments. They are oil/car related, so people bring them up. "I am a mechanic, etc." It feels relevant so they're brought up. These two are bringing completely unrelated fields up. It reads a lot like a fake testimonial.

Because they've paid a dear price to not believe in magic while being magicians. When they see magic ..they look for the illusionist's technique.

Watch The Prestige.

and you are qualified to say who is and isn't qualified, through what mechanism or authority ?

Well when they reinvent themselves and return once again with a new name, they'll have all their facts in order. The shills will be better trained, and might even offer some manufactured facts.

The new and improved shills will be engineers and tribologists. They'll have a VOA and a few UOA reports too. Smart if they change states as well since NV will be pretty easy to spot. They learned a lot here for their future return. I think this group will bust them again.

I don't see them giving up, and I don't see them sponsoring their own forum. After all that would cost money, and no one but the shills would be members.

Ankhmaat: Mechanical Engineer != tribologist
captain_kirk: Computer specialist != tribologist

They don't have any more authority than any regular BITOG member.

This quote from the movie Billy Madison should sum up Synlube nicely.

"Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul."

Trajan and I finally agree on something.

At least "Houckster" is spelled a lot like "Huckster" so there is some warning for the uninformed.

I always like the part " but it is a small company, and cannot compete, so thats why nobody knows about the miracles that are contained in this oil"

Honest companies that advance any type of product science soon become huge and powerful..... Google being one of the latest to do so, many other examples can be found.

Synlube will remain small because they depend on hooking the gullible! If it could really eliminate blowby by totally sealing the rings, eliminate wear, never need changed, increase gas mileage hugely.....
The whole world would be buying/copying it. Synlube would have half an aisle dedicated to it at Walmart, Porsche and Mercedes would use it as factory fill.......

OK, gotta run, the guy from Nigeria that is transferring the royal princes estate to me is calling.... he offered me millions just to help! Its not too good to be true, I really believe it!

Thanks to the mods of this forum to bear with our childish play against synlube ,was fun for a while ,but now i think its time to ban this product permanently from this forum .Im new on this forum and have already learn lots from all the user.Most of people will put personal opinion before fact,but still at the end have some valid point,personal experience to share.Im quite happy to see the sponsor on this site willing to get involve in all these conversation in a diligent way,i really do fell i can use any of these brand with confidence,only some do better in certain application.Castrol,Redline,Mobil,Penzoil,Amsoil just to name a few convince me of their quality and i fell confident to do business with them. In other end SYNLUBE owner is rude,attack other user and play hide and seek ,refuse to provide date,and use a rather aggressive tactics to promote the product ,even if the product work this kind of business should not be permitted.Thanks to bear with my poor English and this is the end of my rants.
