I've read alot on the site about synergyn and was wondering what you guys though about the oil in these 2 vehicles. Im currently running GC the Saturn SL1(previously had amsoil asl 5w30) for UOA comparison. The toyota had amsoil asl 5w30 and now has Mobil1 ss 5w30 in it. Since I have to order a case ill prob run it in both for UOA, but i guess i need to find the one I like and stick with it instead of using a diff oil every change

I think Synergyn is great stuff. I havn't seen a lot of UOA's with it but Motorbike will tell you it held up very well in his 3qt sump. I think the oils is very well built. It looks a lot like Mobil 1 only with more ZDP.

One way to stick with one oil for awhile and saving money at the same time is to buy it in the 5 gallon bucket about 100 bucks shipped . I pour it into a old Mobil SS 5 quart jug .

It stays in grade in my engine that treats oil like a turbo motor and of 4 reports I have never more than 1ppm of lead even with total time that could be measured in quite a few minutes at 5k rpm to and through the Teton's this summer with a small 4 cylinder and automatic trans which is better than I could achieve on the easiest of intervals with Mobil SS . My Mobil reports did look good though before I switched . Just beat it up pretty good is all and NO consumption with either oil .

Good engines let great oils shine . I have very good engines so opinions through analysis will vary with engine and use of them. For the price nothing comes close to this oil for my particular needs which might be similar to others needs

Thanks. I like oil that perform, but I like the idea of supporting the smaller companies that but out a great product also. I think Ill give the 3w-30 a try, just out of curiosity what kind of vehicle do you drive motobike?

The worst that could happen is that you like the oil so much vs anything else you have used you start to feel guilty when you post about your experiences with it

One vehicle in particular is my Wife's daily a commuter . A little 1.5 liter 2002 Kia Cinco Wagon . It's sweet

It really is and gets 3 quarts of oil really hot too .

It has thinned Mobil SS 10w30 down to 9.2 cSt before

Never any fuel in the oil either .

I spoke with a guy today in NJ that sells Synergyn. Nice guy and informative. Synergyn is a Group IV and V based oil. The 3w-30 does use better basestocks/additives then the 5w30 he said. He sells to local performance shops and racers in the NJ area. I'll be using this oil in the future once I get rid of my current supply.

Whats the story on synergyn, is it a group IV and V, or is it something not so modern?

I believe that the head chemist at Synergyn is the former head chemist at Amsoil.

I am not sure about the Group oil.
