SUV driver runs over bikers

Hopefully, the judge would deny the case from even getting started. Since it has to have some merit and not be frivolous. Plus the judge needs to get re-elected.

That would be even better.

There is another angle of video out now that shows a rear angle of the events a little clearer, the SUV moved when the childs door was opened. Im not sure the intent of opening that door, but like the SUV driver, i would have also done anything needed to minimize the number of people in the situation, ie, speed off.

Common sense dictacts, if im surrounded, im taking the path of least resistance. It just so happens someone thought his body was sufficient barricade against an SUV.

Lesson learned in my opinion.

It would seem rather obvious.

But in the current climate of "change" a good crisis is seldom wasted...

All of our criminal bike gangs have affiliates in Australia?

Who says we've lost the ability to export.

Absolutely one hundred percent dead serious.

What if they had been walking? Would you want to ban all pedestrians? Where does it stop? What if they were on bicycles? What if they were in Cadillacs from the 70's? maybe we should ban them too?

[sarcasm] Obviously the solution is to ban all people, period. [/sarcasm]

Now being serious for a moment, I have been a rider most of my life. I have yet to see any riders acting like those punks did. Arresting and prosecuting anyone that acts in a similar manner, is the proper course of action.

Banning all motorcycles from New York City, would be analogous to blaming cars for drunk drivers. Or blaming guns for some mentally deranged lunatic going on a shooting rampage.

Motorcycles, Cars, and Guns are all inanimate objects. By themselves they will just sit and gather dust. It's people that misuse them.

The point is one of irony: NYC bans sugary drinks to prevent their consumption. NYC bans trans-fat for your health. You're not free to choose.....so, ban motorcycles for public safety....not a serious suggestion, but a commentary nonetheless....

I still don't understand why/how they were opening doors? Did the doorlocks NOT work? Sure, doorlocks won't stop broken windows, but they stop outside idiots that come up to open your door. Every vehicle I've had for the past 10+ years has had autolocks. I like them. Last I heard, we are up to 6 arrests now?

It's Range Rover. Frankly, I'm surprised to see one out of the repair shop, and driving down the highway under it's own power.

Broke out the windows with their helmets, reached in and opened the door. Not that hard once the window is out of the way. Unfortunately it's illegal to possess a firearm in NYC, if this was in Arizona they would have met my H&K USP.

Such a true statement....

I didn't know that NYC was exempt from the US Constitution and Second Amendment.

My uncle carries a gun in his car and on his person within the city, and he is NOT in law enforcement. Of course he has a concealed firearm permit but if you get that you can carry and use it to defend yourself in this very type of situation.

You uncle must have connections or thinks he's legal but isn't. NYC must issue the CCP no other jurisdiction matters unless LEO.

Quote:
Of all the states that issue carry pistol licenses, New York State has arguably the strictest handgun licensing policies in the nation.[9] New York City, which is effectively a "no-issue" jurisdiction for carry pistol licenses,[10] has even stricter laws, including those regulating handguns exclusively kept at home, thereby making it difficult to virtually impossible for ordinary citizens to obtain, possess, or carry firearms lawfully within New York City.[11] Permits have been issued, however, to a small number of celebrities, politicians, attorneys and other well-connected individuals.
