Hey guys,

I bought a 6 qts of Mobil One with that Pep Boyz buy 3 get 3 free coupon a while back.

What other dino oil would mix well with my Mobile One? I'm looking for a blend that would safely get me 7,500 miles (in a 8 month time frame) on a 2005 Corolla.

If you have a dino oil suggestion please include the ratio of M1 to dino for the blend also....thanks

Why not just use 100% Mobil 1 and do 10,000 mile OCI ??

Today's GF-4 SM rated dino oils can easily last 7500 miles (look at Jay's UOA for his RSX). Havoline is a great dino oil that alot of people like to mix with Syn oils.

That new Corolla may require an oil change at 7500 miles. Mobil-Exxon asks that new Mobil-1 users reduce their OCI during their first use with it.

I would run all Mobil-1 also & keep changing it at 7.5K until the warranty expires.

Mix it with some very inexpensive Exxon that you can get for around a $1 a quart. Go 3 M1, 2 Exxon. That will get you to 7k safely IMO.

Hi,

Your MAX OCI is 5000 miles if you want your Toyota Warrenty to stay in effect.

I also have a 2005 Toyota Corolla and ALL Toyotas have the max OCI of 6months or 5000 miles.

Please check your "Passport" that you got from Toyota.

You could mix your Mobil 1 and Mobil 5000/7500 and get a blend.

I would take 3 quarts of 5000 and one quart of Mobil 1 and run it 5k.

Is your Corolla a 5sp or Auto? How many miles?

Take Care, Bill

PS: Folks, the Corolla only holds 3.9 quarts of oil.

I'm betting that any API rated conventional oil will be fine if you really want to blend M1 with something else. I would just keep the grades the same.

I just changed the oil in a 95 Prelude and went with a leftover quart of M1 10w30 "SL" and 3.5 quarts of 10w30 Castrol GTX "SM".

Car seems to like it much better and runs so much smoother. You know, the car in my head

The real car doesn't seem to care

Yep... for 5K changes per warranty, only one quart of Mobil-1 is sufficient. Use Mobil conventional Drive Clean 5000 for the rest of the crankcase.
