And get a beater car for work and times like this. No one seems to dent my beater! I'm betting after i paint it this summer, it will get dented.

Well, in this case the OP had left his car parked at home where he thought it would be safe.
Maybe not.
I agree with you in that a beater as a commuter and shopping car is nice to have.
I make it a habit to park way out in lots where I can, but this is more a matter of convenience than anything else.
I don't intend to cruise a lot looking for a good space and if you park way out you can just pull through and drive out with no backing up.

Just sayin...

It is a car, and as time passes, you will get more and more blemishes... it is up to you to decide if repairing them is worth it...

Is it frustrating, yes, but pick your battles. Life is too short to dwell on the minor misfortunes that happen to everyone...

So my car is worthy of damage because I didn't fork out big bucks for winter wheels? I have the mint condition factory wheels with nice tires (which had to get replaced due to being slashed).

I almost needed a dash cam Saturday! Been meaning to get one. A lady driving her kids in a minivan decided it would be cool to brake check me on I80 in PA.

If the speed limit is 65 and she's going 60 ... don't try to pass her!!

Yes - I'm not paying good money for a set of wheels that will just get eaten up by the salt

I think next time I'll just take the Focus down. No desire to drive farther than NJ!

Come to think of it - I just discovered it but I think it happened tuesday. Not while I was in NYC. The car alarm went off randomly on Tuesday but I couldn't figure out why.
