So, came back from NYC (we didn't take my car so it wouldn't get in a wreck) and I found this:

JtQXfBz.jpb

I originally wasn't going to do anything but I saw that the paint was missing on the fender. That means rust.

Called the insurance company and apparently this is collision, not comprehensive?

I was told that it was because something collided with my car. Well ... during a hail storm, hail would collide with my car. If the car got broken into, a rock would collide with the window.

Just asinine.

I am going to be inspecting cars today and see which one hit mine. Won't be too hard I'm sure.

People who can't park shouldn't be driving. Period.

MOST of it buffed out - but there's still the one spot where the paint is gone. I looked through the parking lot and found the car that did it - pretty sure.

Oh well. Guess I'm going to have to deal with it. I'm not spending $1000 to get someone else' stupidity fixed.

There isn't even a dent from what I can see.

Similar thing happened to me in a parking lot last week, even after I parked far away from everyone else. People who bang up other people's cars and don't have the decency to leave a note are the lowest of the lowest.

Wow, thats bad. Ive gotten a scuff like that twice in the past. They become mostly invisible except for the sinking feeling when you walk by knowing that some imbecile damaged your otherwise good condition property. Sorry to see that.

Consider dentless paint removal if need be.

They used to call it "common decency" but it really seems quite uncommon these days. I have returned to my car twice to find minor damage. If you drive around and park in enough lots sooner or later some dolt will find a way to damage your car.

Just gotta accept this as the price of participation...

I doored someone a few years ago. I left them a note explaining what happened, left my contact info and paid for it to be made right. Guess I expected it back.

This happened in Syracuse. We rented a car specifically so this wouldn't happen. The rental car did get some damage from some potholes in NJ though. End links were making noise. And the traffic would have killed my clutch h

And get a beater car for work and times like this. No one seems to dent my beater! I'm betting after i paint it this summer, it will get dented.

Not going to do anything. Calling the insurance company and cancelling. I'm sure my rates will go up.

The part that irritates me the most is I live near Syracuse University. It's all spoiled rich brats who have mommies and daddies that could buy 10 ford focuses without even noticing it. Why would they bother , right?

NO one hits the beat up Cherokee ...

Good as its going to get. I'll lather it up with grease in the fall. Have been doing that with some stone chips in the hood and it's working.

Two annoyances:

- the general way some other people are regarding integrity.

- that we pay insurance, but fear using it.

Sorry for your mishap. It is frustrating, at best.

Your curbed wheels look way worse than the barely visible "scrape..."

Just sayin...

It is a car, and as time passes, you will get more and more blemishes... it is up to you to decide if repairing them is worth it...

Is it frustrating, yes, but pick your battles. Life is too short to dwell on the minor misfortunes that happen to everyone...

I have a dash cam running 24/7 on my car. Caught one fool after he scraped my bumper then parked in a different spot. Didn't know anything about it until I said I have video and threatened to call the police for a hit and run. It's amazing how cooperative people will get

Not easy to take but good advice for everybody.

People should NOT accept that kind of behavior of course. If I can help it I do NOT....when possible make sure that bad deed, and irresponsible behavior are penalized.

i've had worse. Someone hit my Camry, reverse dent in the fascia (where a bolt head exists) and broke a mounting tab on the headlamp. Want to say the estimate was over $1,500. I did my best to superglue the headlight, but it eventually gave up. But the headlight points to the ditch so no one notices. Two years later and far worse paint issues exist.

Sucks. But it is what it is. Not worth buying nice things, no one cars.
