Soliciting thoughts- 2019 DRW F350 stolen (salvage but clear title)

Fueling up and starting to take proactive steps on the algae and fuel pump lube concerns.

Look at the diesel price. This is a native American run station, best prices around. In another thread I will post how oil companies reportly make .77 more per gallon in Washington state over the state of Alabama.

Yikes! I don't know what diesel is here but 87 regular is ~$3.099.

This is the lowest station for unleaded in the area. Everyone else is well over $5.00 for 87 octane. This station is a huge seller of tobacco. I believe it is a Native American owned station.

Big improvement with the new valance. Completes the front end look. My favorite thread on here right now.

Is that the one on the Yelm highway? It is cheap.

PT, that was in Lakewood or right next to Lakewood. Across the street from the Uhaul company owned store. They usually have people panhandling at the exit of the gas station. Now I know why, very busy station, primarily for tobacco. I suspect people with addictions may have stronger empathy for people with addictions.

Thanks. I was aware of the one I mentioned. I stopped in some time back and noticed it was tribal owned. I hadn’t known of such a thing.

Lakewood is a mish mash of things. Getting seedier.

Absolutely all f250 are single rear wheels while 350s come in single or dual rear wheels. I could see someone taking off the king ranch badges for a lesser trim but again most car people would be able to spot it a mile away.
Way back at my first job at a dealership in high school I had to remove the z71 sticker off of a brand new truck. the guy didn’t want the locals to know that he spent extra being he was a township employee I suppose. Loved that job.
I was fueling up yesterday in a super crowded- long line fuel station. A man came up tp me and said" i didn't know Ford offered the dually in a F250". I never knew anyone looked at those "stinkin badges". Guess the swap out of the badges works in some scenarios of disguising the vehicle.

What major thing did I learn about this generation Super Duty? What their owners* make for dinner- reservations. I will elaborate shortly in my next post

*This is a MACRO statement- JWC86, NUKEMan7, etc are obviously the exception.

BLUF- a Ford Super Duty BLIS module requires a VIN to be programmed when replaced. One can simply use the module from the other side (driver or passenger)to pull the VIN programming- there is no difference in the programming whatsoever between the right and left BLIS module- the truck's wiring does the separation so it knows what module is seeing what blind-spot traffic.

This F350 had its drive side tail-light smashed- physically smashing TWO separate modules located inside the OEM tail light assembly. I highlight two as a visual inspection suggest room for only one module. The BLIS model seats inside the main module, but is not visibly present without removing four 7mm screws from the main LED module assembly.

The BLIS module is programmed to the specific vehicle (VIN). Other programming may be involved specific to each individual vehicle to include BLIS calibration. I replaced the left tail light, left LED module, and left BLIS module. The replacement BLIS module was not recognized by the vehicle.

I used a Autel scanner to try and program in the new left BLIS module, without success. I spent many hours trying to figure out the eight digit VIN code the BLIS module was looking for, without success. I spent many more hours on-line searching Ford forums and youtube to try and figure out what eight digit VIN identifier to program- without success and no hopes of success. I know Forscan may have been the answer- but I didn't have Forscan. I was blown away at such a well selling truck, many BLIS issues regularly with this generation truck- but none of the "owners" seemed to know much more than take the truck to the dealer, and pay $$$$$$ for VIN programming and calibration.

I studied for hours, pictures, part numbers, etc. Finally came to the possible conclusion there is no difference in the programming between the left and right BLIS module. I have a working right module, plug it into the left module wiring connector, pull the current program with the Autel, and then write the stored programming to the virgin/ replacement BLIS module.

It worked. If one has one working BLIS module on a super duty (and likely other Ford trucks), a person can pull the programming from it and use that program to configure the replacement module. The programming is driver side/ passenger side neutral.Easy to do this- as easy as eating a pancake.

My frustration was simple- how can the fix be so easy- yet can't find anyone that had done this. I then asked myself why not, and came to the conclusion individual owners of this generation Super Duty with the pricey BLIS feature don't get "their hands dirty". If they can afford a 100k truck, others do the repair- they spend their time searching and buying bling for their $100k trucks.

And for note, went on a long interstate drive at lunch and the BLIS system worked flawless.

Good info about the BLIS programming. I will add that to my notes. Might come in handy down the road.

I do have Forscan but this seems like it would be easier.
JWC,

Might be a good investment to buy a used BLIS module or two, and program them prior to be needed. The LED taillights on these Super Duty are high theft items, and easy to sell. It seems likely to have both stolen if a theft occurs. It takes under 60 seconds to remove a taillight from this generation super duty.

Program two spares, and if the lights are stolen, easy fix. No programming, just install the prior programmed spare BLIS module with the replacement taillight.

@jcwc86 & @Nukeman7 ,

Any thoughts if these back seats are out of a 2017 + Super Duty? They are in Pleasenton, TX. I know the cab they are in is not a 2017+.

GON, looking closely at them, I believe they are the same as what is in a 2019 F350 King Ranch. I am using this listing on eBay that you linked earlier in Post #67 as the comparison and they look identical:

2019 King Ranch Back Seat in WA
NM7,

The listing you linked to is where I purchased the KR center console from, along with the rear bumper. They sold those seats a few weeks before I purchased the truck :(. They are an automotive dismantler, about a 45 minute drive from me. Their prices are reasonable. The operation is much cleaner than most dismantlers I have visited.

After going out and comparing to my 2020 platinum I would say that yes they are for a 2017-2022 f350.

Not seeing the seatbelt for the centre passenger so keep that in mind unless you already have that.

The seatbelt for the middle passenger is shown in both photos. It is laying out onto the floor directly under the left seat belt buckle. I can only see one seatbelt buckle in the right seat cavity, but the photo angle doesn't show whether another buckle is tucked in beside it.

Sure but that seat belt for the middle in the pic isn’t for a 2017-2022. Looks like it for whatever truck that seat is currently in.

Edit to add: it shouldn’t be a lap belt. Should be a full 3 point shoulder belt.

Not sure if GON cares but something to be aware of.

FYI...I just looked back at Post #216 and the last photo shows the middle passenger 3-point shoulder belt is currently intact in GON's truck.
