Basic Smoothie #1

In the blender go:

one small to medium size apple (organic) (vitamins, fiber, pectin)
one lemon or 1/2 orange with peel (organic) (vitamins and fiber)
one ounce of almonds, nuts, or seeds, or any nut butter (micro nutrients, minerals, ALA)
1 teaspoon citrulline malate (nitric oxide booster)
1 tablespoon powdered beet root (nitric oxide booster)
1 tablespoon inulin (fiber and prebiotic)
water to thin the mixture.

When I am looking for an extra nitric oxide boost I replace the apple with celery. Nitric oxide is good for getting a good pump during exercise which helps muscle building.

When I want to stay full longer I add two tablespoons chia seeds.

For extra vitamins and phytos I add blueberries or blackberries.

Mine are usually very simple. Banana and frozen blueberries, or fresh. Vanilla or blueberry low sugar chobani yogurt and water or unsweetened almond milk

Love smoothies. We mix whatever we have to taste.

I haven’t touched protein powder in a long while, due to concerns over metals in it. Maybe the qc/qa is now better? Love the recipe!

I'd rather eat eggs, meat, fish, and beans than protein powder. I don't see an advantage in eating macros via supplements unless I were on a very restricted diet Proper nutrition easily covers all macros and most micros. Most people already eat too much protein.

Basic Smoothie #2:

Oat, almond, cashew, or walnut milk
blueberries
1/2 banana
chia seeds
inulin

Smoothie #3

1/2 banana
2 tablespoons 100% cocoa (preferred) or cacao, not cacao mix or similar
2 tablespoons nut butter
2 tablespoons chai seed
1 tablespoon inulin

Smoothie #4

My son used to refer this as "puréed zombie" when he was little.

raw kale (only ever use organic kale- kale is notorious for being full of pesticides, along with potatoes, strawberries, blueberries, apples to name a few)
carrots
a tomato
1 tablespoon EVO
2 tablespoons powdered beets

For a maximum nitric oxide boost I add celery and citrulline malate.

I can't speak for what you should do. I ingest a total of 10 to 12 cups of plant matter per day, most of it raw. I'd have a difficult time doing that if I didnt ingest about half of that quantity as smoothies. My stomach would be distended and bloated from digesting that much roughage and I would have further unpleasant side effects. The smoothies are simply a good way of getting more easily digestible nutrients into me when I need my energy for things other than digestion.

For a runner like me, the smoothies, especially those with chia, are a great source of energy and the micro nutrients I need during my run. The chia keeos me hydrated longer and I may not have to carry a lot of water.

That's cool if that works for you and if you don't mind spending the time necessary to chew that much roughage.

I'm not trying to tell anyone to make any of those smoothies or to even have any smoothie. I'm just trying to give some examples of combinations I like and why I find them beneficial. Someone might get inspired? You should be grateful I didn't post my raw eggs and buttermilk with parsley recipe.

I enjoyed your varieties of smoothies. I find some almonds, chia seed, banana, sweet potato, some oatmeal, 1% milk and some yogurt is one I like. Ohh and some cranberries, and black berries

I use all berries interchangeably, depending on what looks best when I buy them. I also make dairy smoothies and they'll be coming up. The possibilities are endless with smoothies.

I made one last night, some dried poblano peppers, some fresh jalapeños, sweet peppers, tomato, garlic, sweet potato, spinach, and some Brussels sprouts and water. Kinda a “real V-8”. I like it

citrulline

Ever try making your own almond milk? It's easy and much better than anything you'll find storebought.

I make something similar: Home made almond milk, cherries, and a bit of banana depending on how thick I want it. I'll get a bag of frozen, organic cherries and use them instead of fresh.

Yes, I got about 5 pounds of almonds, walnuts, cashews and hazelnuts in my pantry at all times.
