Basic Smoothie #1
In the blender go:
one small to medium size apple (organic) (vitamins, fiber, pectin)
one lemon or 1/2 orange with peel (organic) (vitamins and fiber)
one ounce of almonds, nuts, or seeds, or any nut butter (micro nutrients, minerals, ALA)
1 teaspoon citrulline malate (nitric oxide booster)
1 tablespoon powdered beet root (nitric oxide booster)
1 tablespoon inulin (fiber and prebiotic)
water to thin the mixture.
When I am looking for an extra nitric oxide boost I replace the apple with celery. Nitric oxide is good for getting a good pump during exercise which helps muscle building.
When I want to stay full longer I add two tablespoons chia seeds.
For extra vitamins and phytos I add blueberries or blackberries.
