Relax, I'm here to help Rmay out. Honda has back specced green oil for Insights going back several years prior to green oil's creation:

He had a car that is manufacturer-approved for thinner oil. I saw and took the opportunity to make sure he knew of that, which he did but respectfully rebutted with a use case in which the thin oil is of no assistance.

Add Castrol EDGE Pick Up to the list...

Well I must say...I don't know if this oil is "good" or not, but I've been running it for my last three oil changes (5,000-6,000 miles). You can't beat the price with the rebate they've been running all year....think I'm spending around 2.25 a quart. As for the oil, I am using less oil through my changes slightly, but that could be because I really haven't run it through the winter (I tend to use more oil through the winter months and I started using this oil in the early spring).

I'll be buying it again for my next oil change, then I'll probably be on the lookout for another brand that's running a rebate (the gas truck's rebate program ends in December). But zero complaints with this oil.

I'm sure it's a very good oil. Despite Shell's marketing of a thousand different oils, they are all of very high quality IMO.

Has there been any clarification on the "All Mileage" statement? I'd consider running this oil if I thought it had a little extra seal conditioning added in.

I presume to think that it has seal conditioners just like a high mileage oil would. I think the use of the All Mileage label is meant to instill in a customer's mind that they can use this oil from the beginning of the vehicle's life indefinitely or to start using it at any time otherwise and then indefinitely. Shell seems to think in fleet terms and wanted to make RGT a product that covers as many bases as possible. It also saves them money in production costs as compared to Mobil that makes EIGHT different variations of 0w20 oil alone, half of which are virtually identical aside from their marketing.

Except M1 must be kicking Shell's butt, because now Shell is doing the EXACT same thing ... a "unique ... " oil for every application. Diesel truck / Gas truck / Start - Stop protection / Maximum Power / Hybrid ? C'mon guys, seriously ? What retailer is going to stock all these flavours ... ?

Allow me to clarify, when I said Shell in this instance I was referring to a specific product line under the Shell specific brand Rotella. Not a reference to other SOPUS brands. I tend to refer to Rotella products interchangeably as Shell products, that is the thread topic

No need to relax at all, but thank you anyway. I just didn't understand the technical meaning of "stronger" and how it specifically applied to PAO. I'm still a bit fuzzy but maybe that's just me.

I'm a bit committed to the 0w-20 flavor of SGT now. Picked up 30 quarts in the ongoing Autozone clearance. Ends up $0+tax after rebate ($0.20/qt) net.

Going to run this in a DI Mazda 2.0. SN+ and dexos1/gen2 should do fine. Higher moly is in keeping with Mazda's own oil as well.

Otherwise I'll mix it up in visc and throw it in the Jeep or Saturn or whatever else. Couldn't resist the price.

I used this in my 09 Nissan with a half qt of Lucas synthetic oil stabilizer to halt consumption. 2k in and it's working like a champ. Don't know how or why but I'm not adding a qt every 1k. In fact the level hasn't budged so I'm happy. I also picked up 20qts at AZ but didn't think it poured any thicker than any other 5-30.
