Saw someone walk out of Lowes without paying

shop lifters while is a PIA for us all, I mean if you choose to live in a country and state you simply accept follow those rules, laws. Follow what the tribe or clan order is has been the way of humans almost forever.

But for me shop lifters has less of a direct effect immediate effect unlike Vehicle code violators that endanger my vehicles and my safety EVERY DAY. Dash Cam are my freind. I am also putting together a great you tube of some of there antic 's. When I say everyday that is not an exaggeration.

If she did in fact steal it, she might just end up on the local police department's Facebook page like they do around here. Doesn’t make it right, but bad people will do bad things and sooner or later karma will catch up to them.

On that note, I once forgot to pay for a case of Diet Pepsi on the bottom of my cart… I’ll be turning myself into the sheriffs department after I take a nap after reading some of these comments.

If that were the case why wouldn't the customer stop and explain instead of continuing to walk out?
Ever been in a less than stellar mood at a big box store? I have. Could be anything from an incompetent employee, inaccurate inventory, or just plain bad service. I’d walk right out of there without saying a word too.

I am almost positive this is what happened or at least I would like to think that way.
It could be the case but just as good a chance that it's not, that it's exactly what the OP says. This is common at the large retailers. Their policy is not pursue them, just call the police and hope there's an officer nearby that can react quick enough.

Ever see tools, etc on Facebook Marketplace and previously Craigslist like "Milwaukee combo set, new in box, never opened, $75" ? That's an item that walked out of a store....

 We could all not read political and COVID related posts too. It's almost as if some topics serve no purpose besides setting people at odds with one another or manufacturing outrage and dramatic storytelling.

If we exclude every topic that people get upset over, we won't have anything to talk about.

Excluding the verboten topics you mentioned from discussion is a very smart move IMO. The discussions always suck and no one benefits, nor enjoys it.

That reminds me. I need to go to Lowe's and "obtain" some lumber. With the special five-finger discount. Shouldn't be any problem, right? Their lumber prices are robbery themselves. ;)

This gradually started back when shopkeeper got sued by accident they caused tackling thefts, then gradually becomes got sued by discrimination to customers they thought were thefts but were not. Then gradually large chains instruct stores not to stop thefts due to possible injury they caused or the thefts caused to the employees, then gradually to prison cost and cost to prosecute petty thefts, then finally thefts realize it is safer to be petty 100 times than a big time theft stealing 100 times the value in item.

If we have to blame anyone I'd blame the legal system and our insurance paid medical system that cost so much and the lawyers win when you win and the lawyers win when you lose. In 5 years we will have all online shopping other than vegetables (because it is worth nothing when not fresh) in person. We will also all be buying from vending machine in stores too.

Oh you guys want privacy? There will be none. In the future we will only have membership store that you need to put down DNA samples to enter even if membership is free. Welcome to China.

I remember a few years ago, this happened at a Lowes or HD, and a shoplifter ran out of the store, threw the stuff in their truck and started driving away. Apparently employees or security ran out after them and a lady in the parking lot saw it and started shooting at the shoplifter. I guess she didn't pay attention in all parts of her gun safety and/or CCW class. She was cited by the police and lost her CCW permit as I recall (or the police were going to recommend she lose it).

Like somebody else said, maybe she was coming from the service desk.

You can see all kinds of eye-opening things everywhere. Just this week, some yutz decided he wasn't going to wait in line on the major road, started trying to pass people in the center lane, but folks would inevitably try to make a left turn, and then he'd be stuck. It had started when he was behind me, and all the way down the road he was giving everyone the "number one" sign, especially if they caused him to be held up again.

Caught up with him two lights down the road, apparently he got stuck behind someone again and got held up, so he was giving yet another person the number one sign. Had to laugh because despite his big hurry, I still caught up with him. Just kind of glad it didn't progress to full-on road rage battle.
