SAE vs Metric

What is special about these minus the ability to be used on both? Are they good for rusted fasteners? I first heard about them ~10 years ago from a junkyard employee who swore by them.

They contact the flat surfaces of a bolt head or nut versus the pointed parts so they can be used on nuts that have been rounded off. They work better on rusted fasteners but sometimes they still will not remove them without help from heat or whatever. I swear by them.

If you study them,they go on slightly loose,then they rotate onto the off corner or flat.Its got world inventor awards,German origin,where you know they use good engineering and steel

Twin drive (metric and SAE) sockets and wrenches here. Not hard to design with flange drive.Cuts down on number of tools.

Do they tear up the fastener?

No,they are off corner engagement,hit on the flats only.They work on both Metric and SAE by fitting over the larger of the two sizes that are close to each other.By rotating the tool it systematically tightens up on the flat,avoiding the corners

My son is going into his last year of aircraft tech soon. He said it's almost all SAE.
