Drew:
Don't take this as a slam, but I had a hard tim understanding your post. You stated that someone thought you cut them off got in font of you and brake checked you. You respond by 1) hitting his car with yours (even lightly), and 2) throwing something at him?
Sorry, but it appeared you were more the "rager" than him. Even if you didn't instigate it, you were just as wrong, if not more.
I too have a short temper and have had 3 roadside confrontations that I can think off, one resutling in a brawl. That was over 5 years ago. I have since realized that driving away isn't being a coward...it's being smart. Just a few months ago I exited off to get gas and had a car pull up beside me and a large angry man got out. I had no idea why, and didn't even remember seeing his car. He pened his trunk, fot what apeared to be a 3 iron out and had it pulled back and in a determined walk toward me. I just opened up my door, pulled my SIG P220 out and held it to my side. He wisely chose to get back in his Lincoln and drive off.
Story with an important lesson that changed my actions 5 years ago: Buddy was driving in downtown Atlanta. A car cut him off and exited. He followed them (3 in the car, he was solo) into a BAD neighborhood (read dumba**). The car got caught at a redlight and he (buddy) got out and approached the car and pulled the door open (read BIG DUMBA**). Next thing he knew he was standing there and the car sped off. Felt something wet on his belly. Looked down and saw blood draining from his stomach. He had been stabbed. Two surgeries, several pints of blood and 1/4 of his liver gone. Moral of the story...think...don't be stupid.
