So the Expedition was a great vehicle, in the 10 yeaes we've had it in the family its been great. But, with grandmother getting older we wanted to get her something smaller. Found this '12 Jeep Liberty at a dealership in town. Didn't need the 4wd, but living up here up here in the mountains, it's pretty much all you find, so an added bonus if weather gets bad. Has 84k on it, but is in real good shape. Originally came from NY, but the dealer put it on the lift for me to inspect for rust and other issues. Onto a couple pics.

Very nice. The 2nd gen Liberty is certainly a massive visual improvement over the first. They look like mini Commanders.

Nice KK. Gonna mod it at all? W

I think a set of sliders and some better tires is all that's in order at the moment. Unfortunately the snow is probably no longer existent until next year, so until then it's on mall crawler duty.

My brother has a 2008 and it hasn't had any issues other than a recall (fuel filler belches out gas when it is topped off) and the batteries in the TPMS sensors are dead. The fuel tank issue got fixed for free.

Looks really nice. The Jeep Liberty is another one that seems to hold up well in rust belt climates. I see a lot of early to mid 2000's still looking nice where I live, where you can't say that so much for other make/model similar vehicles.

Maintain it well and it likely will be a happy addition. Despite the "bad wrap" Jeeps get our family has had great daily drivers out of the brand, about 5 now.

Yours is still new enough you can give it the maintenance it needs (tranny, differential and transfer case). Unfortunately most Jeeps are not owned by what I would call real "Jeep people" and rarely does more than the oil get changed.

My litmus test is to pull the tranny dipstick. If it looks like the tranny was never serviced (highly probable) you can be certain the other stuff was never done.

I never had a Liberty but my mother had one for many years, the old one that was supposed to be so awful. Never had any trouble at all out of it, but I did all the required maintenance for her too. She eventually traded it in on...you guessed it another Jeep.
