Repairing jacket of outdoor extension cords

I don't like the weight of the fibreglass ladders. Makes it tricky when you are working in someone else's living room and have to lift over or manouver around delicate furniture. Al my ladders are aluminium.

Even an 8 foot fiberglass is not that heavy. What size are your talking about? I don’t work on my ladders for people so what works for you is most important.
 
OSHA only allows heat shrink tubing to repair extension cords. Some heat shrink is pretty crappy while some is actually thick and durable, but I would still want to wrap tape over the heat shrink for abrasion resistance.

Hah , our safety guys wouldn't allow ANY repairs to an extension cord . Those guys were always trying to make a name for themselves and nobody could successfully challenge them . The safety manual was just the minimum requirement so to speak . They could raise the bar at will .

I have 6 ft and 8 ft aluminium ladders. There is a 10 ft aluminium ladder at work which I borrow sometimes for my own use. I appreciate their light weight when manouvering around delicate objects.
