I'm doing a gear swap in my rig soon and I was reading about the Redline Shockproof Diff Fluid. Has anybody heard any feed back about this stuff. It reads pretty good on the Redline website but I would prefer some outside info on this stuff if anybody has any. IMHO, if it has the same quality like the rest of the Redline products then I figure it should be a good choice. Any feedback is appreciated.

I used it in my Ford Excursion rear diff and I tow a 6K travel trailer on a regular basis. No problem so far for 32K miles.

I believe it is moly. I have stated before that this fluid is highly regarded with the dirt stock cars rear ends.

I think Salesrep is correct. Here is a comparative UOA that I posted awhile back:

You ask and you shall receive! These 2 samples are taken from a 2000 Honda S2000 with FI (SC) and 4.44 final drive gears. The first is Mobil 1 75W90 at 35K kms and 4K kms on the sample. The second is RL Heavy Duty Shockproof at 39K kms with 4K kms on the sample. Wear Check MOB did the analysis.

Anyone know?
Calcium.

I don't have enough miles yet (only 600 or so) to make a recommendation on the Red Line Lightweight ShockProof All Synthetic Formula 75w140 that I am using...
I would describe the color of this fluid, as a techno baby blue.

Thanks for the replies. I think I'm going to go with this stuff after the gears break in as it is a little expensive to use just for the break in period. I guess I just have to figure out whether I should use the heavyweight or the lightweight.

If an SAE 250 is what you are looking for: Amsoil now has a single grade SAE 250, with a pretty low pour point too.

Don't know but what else in the ingredients look different.

The information on this website is amazing if you put out the effort to study up.

Why? Unless you race you don't need it.

Use a good synthetic 75W110 instead.

Shockproof is basically a calcium slurry.

Not with todays ultrafine colloidal suspensions.
