Recommendations for Tow Vehicle

A really nice and well regarded vehicle is Subaru Outback that fits the bill. I believe 2700 lb capacity at least.

It can be better then a 2wd pickup if the towing involves boats/ramps.

Having tried to accelerate hard on a highway ramp with a Subaru CVT where the engine roars, the rpm's soar, but it feels like nothing is happening, I can't even imagine trying to pull something with it.

I learned that if I install brakes on my trailer, my 9-5 is good for 3500 pounds! Obviously the drive train and suspension are more than robust enough for what I will tow. Even the current brakes, since it is an Aero, are an upgrade over base tow capacity.

Looks like trailer brakes only, no new vehickecrewuired - yet.
