Vehicle must easily tow 2000 lbs, eve. Fit in a standard garage with the wife's car. Achieve good fuel economy. Have broad Dealership support.

Looking for suggestions. Thanks!

I’d get something with 3500+ lbs of tow capacity if you are going to tow 2,000 lbs with any frequency. Towing at the limit is not relaxing. What’s your budget?

A class 8 semi truck just to be safe.

Seriously though, just about anything with a tow package could probably do it. What else do you want the tow vehicle to be, cost, do?

You might try this toe vehicle .

I will be towing a 1964 Formula car (800 lbs) on a 900 lb trailer. Total of 1700lbs.

I am currently using a SAAB 9-5 Aero which is rated for 2000/3500lbs. Depending if trailer has electric brakes. No fun towing through the hills or mountains of Central Pennsylvania!

Car has 225K miles so will be replacing it in coming year. Looking for suggestions to place on my watch list.

A Grand Cherokee or Durango with the factory tow package (THIS IS CRITICAL!) will easily do 6,200lbs. The Pentastar is an amazing engine
I noticed the Chrysler products have extremely high tow ratings. Are they really that capable or does Chrysler tweak their ratings?

I had a couple of Escapes, the 2.0 turbo was great for towing. I was amazed at how well it towed my boat and other trailers.

You could do the speed limit almost anywhere if you desired to, mileage would drop as you pushed the pedal down though.

This will fit in the garage. ;)

A nice small(Mid size really) pickup. Frontier, Tacoma, Ranger, Colorado. All of those will do that with ease. That way you have a bed for other stuff if you are racing/showing that car.

They do great, the Durango and Grand Cherokee are both rear wheel drive based chassis and use the same engine and transmission that are in the Ram 1500’s. I’d go for 2014+ models though, that’s when they got the 8 speed transmissions and are far superior to the previous 5/6 speed units. My good friend routinely tows up to the max rating.
