RC Cola pricing

We buy the store brand 1 liter bottles of sodas at Weis or Giant. They alternate between $0.99 and $1.29. When they are at the lower price, we stock up. At the same time, the Pepsi and Coke 1 liter bottles are over $3! And yes...I own shares in Coke but I'll let others pay the high price to support my dividend.

The RC at our commissary (NAS Corpus Christi) is typically about six bucks for a 12-pack, but goes on sale for four bucks about once a month.

I'm not sure who makes or distributes what anymore, but the RC prices here (regular and sale) are always tied to 7-Up, A&W, and Sunkist.

Keurig/Dr Pepper owns them today, along with 7UP, A&W, Crush, Hires, Squirt, Sunkist, and many more.

Here in Florida it’s very rare to see RC soda.

It’s a good tasting cola.
It is funny how regional some sodies are. Royal Crown is a great one. I've been off "pop" for some years now. Love the stuff. Unfortunately the sugar caught up to me.

Depends on your distributor. Around here, RC is the same distributor as 7Up.
"Calendar Marketing Initiative." Coke and Pepsi have coordinated so they will never both be on sale at the same time in the same store. Somehow that is legal.

I’ve seen sale pricing where all the major distributors were part of the same promotion. I’m seeing $4.97 per 12 pack for Coke or 7Up distributed cans but a requirement to buy five.

The fancy sit down pizza place near me sells RC on tap. I love it. Haven't seen it in bottles or cans on Long Island for some time. My vice is a glass bottle of Mexican Coke with dinner. If I get them at 7-11, cold, they're 11.21 or something for four. I hate going to Costco but I get a case of 24 there for I think 36 dollars.

I asked the pizza shop owner how he came to sell RC. He said he was two weeks from opening and Coke and Pepsi were hardly interested. If I remember right, one said they'd get there in a month and the other wasn't interested at all. He called RC and they were there the next day setting up the fountains. After he started doing well, Coke and Pepsi both contacted him wanting in. He told em to take a hike.

I know it sounds strange. The restaurant is in Bayshore. I can't remember which one it was but I know it was Coke or Pepsi. They told him he was too small.
This was twenty years ago as well. Who knows what they were thinking back then.

Edit: I was thinking, If I remember right, they were building Red Robins and some other restaurants all over the place. Maybe they were too tied up with that? All the Red Robins are gone from LI now but the Pie at Salvatore's is still there servin' up RC.

I haven't bought pop for maybe 15 years but RC Cola used to be my favorite because it wasn't as sweet. I'm glad it still exists.

But it's actually sweeter than Coke or Pepsi. The 12 oz nutrition information has it at 170 calories vs 150 for Pepsi and 140 for Coke. And the calories are exclusively sugar or HFCS.
