There is a difference between hoarding and buying on bargain. Hoarding is a mental illness that you cannot control, and irrational, like hoarding trash that has no value or for no profit/benefit. Buying on bargain gets you savings and if the sales isn't there, people can stop buying suffering no withdraw.

What the OP complained about is people are buying bargains that he/she deserves. I doubt that's a valid complain.

So you're comfortable with overspending?

I've been a hoarder before. It's nice to have a good size stash, because when you decide "I'm doing the oil and filters in all my cars today." There's no money spent and no trip to the store. You just get get out a few gallons and get after it. And, in times when you really are trying to save up to get something that you want, you don't have any outlay for car maintenance. When you've got an extra few bucks to throw at something and the oil deals are on or there's some crazy clearance then you replenish.

Can you stop if you know there's better bargain later? That decide whether it is hoarding or bargain buying.

I haven't bought in 3 years because they aren't free after rebate anymore and I still have like 60 quarts.
