I am due for an Oil change on my Grand Cherokee.

What are the general feelings on Qukaer State oil?

its fine, use it, bathe in it, cook with it, rub your body with it, enjoy.

From what I can tell by reading some articles I found by googling "Is Quaker State a good oil?" Quaker State has mixed reviews and seems to be an average run of the mill product.I would look at the synthetic blend called Defy. The price on that oil seems to be pretty good, and it is a high mileage oil. So I would go for it. This is just my opinion based on my limited knowledge and what I could find from others comments.

I think it would be more productive to list "bad" oils. You know the ones that will melt your engine into a block of smoldering pile.

The Pennzoil label usually has a better basestock and stronger additive package over Quaker State.

A Texbook conventional oil. API certified, use with utmost confidence. In their 2011 assessment at PQIA
the PYB had high moly moderate boron whereas the QSGB had moderate moly and high boron - otherwise they were nearly indistinguishable. The Formulation likely has evolved since.

Me too. No issues or drama.
Much better than City Star or Bullseye.

I personally like the QS/ Pennzoil horror stories. It keeps the people scared and the prices low.

From what I've read on here about SOPUS, QS is more for anti-wear while Pennzoil is more for cleaning. It's a fine oil that'll serve your car well.

Exactly

A very good product for good prices. The green bottle is a great price and the full synthetic is a deal at $21.97 at wally world.. I like Havoline and its priced in the same neighborhood or even just a bit cheaper.

Did the OP say what year his Jeep vehicle is? Defy is an SL rated oil, which means it should not be used in cars built after 2004.
