I bought this oil at Wal-Mart today, so I could post a picture of it here on BITOG. I had seen it discussed in a couple of threads, & some here have questioned whether or not it really even existed. Well, here is a picture, with my questions/comments below:

The first thing I noticed is that this oil does not have any API S_ certification listed anywhere on the bottle. In fact, it does not have ANY specs. whatsoever listed on the bottle. With that said, do you guys think it would be OK in my wife's '97 Expedition with 113k miles, mixed with 5 qt's of QS Peak Performance 5w30? Or should I treat this oil as if it were the Black Plague?

Possibly......I'll hold on to it for a few more days, to see what else the BITOGers have to say about it. Then, I'll decide if I'm going to use it or return it.

Here it is. My camera sucks. You can't read the writing, but as you can see, there is no API service "donut", & there are no performance specs of any kind listed.

I say use it. Diluted with 5 qts oil, you're not going to hurt anything; or use it as a make up oil. I bet the amount of Slick50 in that bottle is very small.

saw it in 5 qt jugs @ Wallys last night
good for a laugh if nothing else
I'm sure somebody will buy it - I'm guessing 90% of the population would figure the Slick 50 is a good thing.......

found this on a website:
"In defense of Slick 50, tests done on a Chevy 6 cylinder engine by the University of Utah Engineering Experiment Station found that after treatment with the PTFE additive the test engine's friction was reduced by 13.1 percent, the output horsepower increased from 5.3 percent to 8.1 percent, and fuel economy improved as well. Unfortunately, the same tests concluded that "There was a pressure drop across the oil filter resulting from possible clogging of small passageways." Oil analysis showed that iron contamination doubled after the treatment, indicating that engine wear increased (Rau)."

I'm taking this crap back to W-M. I just can't make myself use it. I'll exchange it for a qt. of Valvoline Maxlife. Then I'll have an even 6 for the Expy's next oil change.

When I went on the quaker state web site I tried the product technical data.Every time I clicked on a product with slick 50 it said that page could not be found. It worked for all the other quaker state products.

If I drove a beater like that show Pimp My Ride I would fill it up and run the He**
