Sample size of one and all that good stuff.

Bought a Purolator LX7317 at Wally World. I think I’ll continue to pass on Purolator.

Lots of loose glue. I can’t guarantee that that I didn’t knock anything loose cutting the filter element, but I found 3 large pieces of loose adhesive inside the pleats. Lots of loose glue outside the element. Half of the top metal plate didn’t adhere, but I doubt that matters under pressure.

If that biggest piece of loose glue was in fact loose, if it could fit through a louvre, I think it could clog an oil squirter. Lots of “ifs” but I’d rather not take a chance.

As soon I grap the box and the box crush in and open the filters , all of them had debris around the O ring, I knew it’s not a filter I want for my vehicles.

The Boss is the only one that doesn’t have the black glue. My blue and red look fine outside and in, but may cut them now. Not going to wonder, there has been too much with the black glue. I will use the one Boss I have, then see what to do. Have plenty of new oil filters. No PG , no way. Not going to use those either, no answering why it’s my choice.

Hopefully this does not sidetrack too much, but does anybody know why the Walmart sold filters regardless of brand have those little bar code stickers on the inside top flap? I do not recall seeing those at other stores.

All brands of filters sold at Walmart now have that sticker? Never heard of that before. The Purolator 20K is only sold at Walmart in case that's not known by everyone.
