It looks promising. I'm going to ask them a few questions on their FB page.

Just guess, but based on the msrp it looks like a "price is no obstacle" type product for the very high end market crowd. Without any data who knows though. No PDS's. Not everyone cares about that though in certain circles.

I have over 2+decades of automotive experience under my arms and I'm not buying it.

This product needs to prove it's worthiness on BITOG before we become serious about it....

Q.

BTW: I run only national brand conventional oil, not some magical elixir or unicorn horn's oil.

No one is forcing anyone to buy it. LOL. If it's a mostly Group V based oil with some uniqueness to it, it may do well among the high end car market. Rarely do these very small players end up making it. It's so new and not much is known about it. The msrp is interesting.

I hope everyone realizes that unicorns are an endangered species and that we should quit grinding up their horns to make special oil. I have it on good authority that a few drops of oil from a used lava lamp will achieve results just as good as unicorn horns. In fact that is what gives special qualities to Sust....oops I am not supposed to tell...never mind.

I would appreciate the UOA, but are you sure this is a long life oil?? Also, the 'elevated level of ZDDP' might not be what your 2 year old emission system needs - not to mention the warranty requirements.

You use lava lamp oil too!?!? I do too, my engine is soo smooth now, and I have 10 more HP and 15 more MPG, all just from 1 single change to a new oil.

Nothing on their website or FB page tell me anything I need to know to buy this product. Lots of buzzwords, no facts. Here's a few...moly, ZDDP, molecular level ball bearings, esters, group V base stocks, HP and torque gains.

The marketing gimmick that rubs the wrong way is they are an American company, made in America, but they have an umlaut in their name!

Since the internet told me that lava lamp oil was exclusively supplied by XOM, I worry about elevated iron levels.

Hector, the 12hp gain claim is what set off most of our B.S. meters. Not too long ago, Royal Purple made such claims that they eventually were challenged on and could not substantiate. After that, most of us here take these sort of performance claims with a hugh grain of salt.

That being said, I'm sure we would all like to see a 10k mile UOA of this stuff just out of curiousity. A VOA of it would really help make a case for the quality of the product.

Nick1994,

I would advise caution...too much lava lamp oil and you start to get roily ploy lava coming out your tailpipe. Other drivers look at you oddly and I am too sensitive a guy for that. ;-)

Yeah those ümlauts are atrocioüs. I'm with yoü. Isn't it awfül that they spelled "pure" the German way too? Horrible, just horrible. If we let this go ünchallenged, next thing yoü know someone will start üsing FRENCH! Sacré Bleu. Oh no I jüst used an accent aigü. That does it if I catch myself üsing an accent grave I am heading to Americans Plagued wih a Global View Anonymoüs

Like I said If Hyundai with THE BEST CAR WARRANTY in the world is starting (unofficiallly) to allow USE of PurOl brand oils in their vehicle (Cerritos Hyundai Dealership in CA being one of the first to offer this) I think this is a very good start for this to catch on. But like always, time will tell.

Wouldn't that great warranty be null and void if you don't follow the manufacturers maintenance requirements? A dealer is not Hyundai btw. They just sell cars and PurOl apparently. Which is why some are called "stealerships".
