Honestly my car sounds the same straight after an oil change as it does one week later. I think this should be a reminder that the apparent sound of an engine can be subtlety different depending on various factor including temperature, wind (strength and direction), ambient noise and proximity to nearby objects.

With all these variables it makes engine noise a perfect candidate for "confirmation bias", in my opinion.

Did my first OC on our 2011 CR-V back in July (had taken it to dealer for OCs before Jul.) Went with Pennzoil Platinum 0W-20 and a NAPA Gold (aka Wix) filter. Been running rough ever since. Should be due for another OC in Jan, going with SynPower 0W-20 and a PureOne filter, hopefully this improves things.

Barometric pressure, humidity, etc even seems to affect the way your car runs and "feels" imo.
