Ok, I've been around the block (a FEW times), but new to this forum and every forum has its unique but universally understood acronyms....

So what is PP anyway???

OK, I figured it out as Pennzoil Platinum, I have to assume RP is Royal Purple as well.

IF there were a give-away, I'd take either. The 7 UOA's, on three different vehicle, which I've had with PP have been stellar. I'm sure the AmSoil would be stellar also.

Or "AMSplat".

I would use whatever is in your engine right now if possible. If you have the Amsoil in there now. Use the Amsoil, then switch to the PP when you are done with that. Vise versa if you have PP in there now. If neither of them are in the sump now. Just pick the opposite of what you plan to run for the long haul first, then the other for the duration of the vehicle life to you.
