21 escape 211,000 miles

Hi guys I drive 300 or so miles a day for work. All freeway. Using Amsoil xl 5w30. What interval would you change out at considering my driving type? Appreciate your input.

I agree with 15K after a used oil analysis. Also, isn't Amsoil XL their lowest tier oil? I'd probably use Mobil 1 Extended Performance or Castrol EDGE gold for probably the same cost as that Amsoil.

Get a used oil analysis done to understand fuel dilution (if any) and TBN at your current interval then keep adding mileage with each used oil analysis. Remain consistent with oil brand/weight.

It's their "mid grade" on par with most off the shelf extended drains. Their OE is the next lowest tier and recommends following OLM from manufacturers.

I've been doing 10K OCIs for the last 46 years. Never had a problem with very clean engines.

XL = Mid level, very good oil. Not sure why the recommendation to change oils.

I do agree, a used oil analysis would be wise. 15K should be doable.

Yeah that would be a big factor in determine just how far and frequently I’d want to run an oil.

300 miles a day?? Wow. And I imagine it gets driven a little on the weekends too…so let’s say…1,6000 miles a week, 6,400ish a month. Yeah, I’d just go with Amsoil Signature Series and double that interval you’re doing to 14,000-15,000 miles (with an analysis afterwards). I imagine you’re using the vehicle for work, the expense of the analysis and expensive oil will be a right off anyway. Or try what HPL has to offer - you’re the perfect candidate for a boutique oil with the amount of driving you do.
