Sticking with the Shell Helix Ultra ECT C2/C3 for my little Honda Civic 1.6 diesel engine. Been good for the last couple of changes and at £44 it was pretty decently priced.

Matched it with genuine Honda filter which is apparently made by Purflux (it has the odd zigzag pleates in the filter to give more surface area).

Did my yearly oil change yesterday, decided to go with Supertech Syn this time. Oil out was Napa

6 quarts FRAM Synthetic ATF4 for the Dakota and CarQuest premium ATF filter. Already had trans flushed good so now filter change out. Nice having friends in auto parts; cost was $62~

Public service announcement: get up and go check your AAP’s. This one had 3 gallons Valvoline premium blue 5w40 clearance $9/gallon and 9 FRAM synblend 15w40 CK4 gallons for $4!

I snagged all the Valvoline and 2 Synblend jugs.

I was at Blain's Farm & Fleet yesterday and noticed a clearance tag as I was walking past the oil section. Amsoil SS 0w30 for $2.88 a quart. They had 12 quarts so I bought all 12. Normally I wouldn't buy something like that but for the price I guess the couple jugs of Valvoline that I have can sit on the shelf for a bit.
Holy crap, that would get me to buy Amsoil too

Baldwin oils filters are very good, especially for offroad vehicles. I think they're the best for the money and arguably the best regardless of money. Cost same as Wix.

As for oil, I buy Valvoline Maxlife High Mileage Synblend red bottle, but I'd be happy with any brand of high mileage oil that's conventional or blend.

I'm not picky about oil brand, but I am picky about oil type and oil filter brand.

After Baldwin, Wix is my 2nd choice for filter. My 3rd choice would be any autostore housebrand. I think Baldwin are great, Wix good, autostore house brands are likely made by Wix or a near equivalent.

Did the same stuff as @6.7 CTD and @Hootbro. Picked up 6 gallons at $8.95/gallon from closest AAP. Three of them have a 8-19-22 dates and the other three are 1-3-25. They'll should work just fine in the kids higher mileage CRV and Forte. Might even make it into the FIL's Renegade for now.

I wasn't thrilled with the cold engine performance of the M1 0W-40 originally when I tried it in my Accord. At $2.25/qt for this I'll give it another try. Also interested if my oil use changes any as all my other choices so far do use some (M1, PP, PP Euro-L) all at about the same amount.

Local aap is closing, all oil in the store is currently 40% off. Was 30% a few days ago. Got these for 23.99 each. Then submitted for the cash back through valvoline. So should get them for 18.99. Gonna go back this weekend and buy more if they have any left. Air and oil filters are currently 50% off.
